Endless queues and delayed flights, touring shops so as to make time go fast. Airports, the

to claim; that once you travel by train theres no going back.
My last experience on an aircraft was the most unpleasant of them all. Half a day spent sitting
opposite to the boarding gate, only to discover that my flight had been cancelled. Next day I
returned, lucky me I could fly this time. The following 13 hours consisted on turbulences
accompanied by disgusting food served on plastic containers, on top of a ridiculously small tray
table. Never had I desired so greatly to land, but as soon as I set foot on land I noticed my neck
straining thanks to those unbearable seats.
However terrible was it, no predicament will ever prevent me from travelling. In fact, i have
visited thousands of places since then, but without wings. Trains were the solution and have
become my happy place, where I can relax in a peaceful environment free from hassles.
Annoying neighbours? Find a new seat! You dont like queues? With them you instantly skip the
hell of airport security. Are you a bit picky when it comes to food? Order something else! They
offer solutions to virtually every problem I used to encounter while being a plane passenger.
I have become such a fanatic of trains that Im not sure whether I use them to reach places or
just to enjoy the spectacular and mesmerising views as I cross countries ( I cant help getting
glued to the window every time). I used to think that only when I was on planes I would be

travelling above clouds, but I honestly have never felt higher than when being in the cosiness of
a train.
