New Worldview
Unit Goal:
The seventeenth century was a time of crisis and rebuilding for Europe. Analyze how the
rise of absolutism and constitutionalism tried to deal with order in Europe, as well as the
emerging new worldview created by the Age of Enlightenment.
Language Objectives:
Define academic vocabulary using both oral and written responses. Explain content
material using complete sentences. Create a thesis and prove it.
Enabling Objectives: Students will be able to.using
1. Identify/define the chapter I.D.s terms and their significance to this unit.
2. Explain the revolutionary discoveries that were made in the sixteenth and seventeenth
centuries and the intellectual and social results.
3. Examine the impact the new ways of thinking had on political developments and monarchical
absolutism.
