Method of operation

With the FTS 600 and FTS-HD... sack closing machines

MEYPACK offers equipment to close any open mouth paper
sack. The FTS 600 gives a siftproof closure to paper sacks. The
FTS-HD... closes paper sacks and seals the plastic inner liner
with a hermetic heat seal. Due to the double folding, an efficient
heat seal protection is achieved. The FTS-closure (Fold, Tape,
Seal) is state of the art in sack closing and meets todays user
requirements. The optional tear strip or strippable sack versions allow end user and environmentally friendly packaging.
The FTS-closure can be opened without tools and damage of
the sack. Therefore contamination of the contents with shreds
of paper is impossible and the sack is reclosable. Strippable
sacks permit grading of the disposable sack material without
any effort.

The FTS sack closing machines operate in a continuous manner. Heavy duty carrier chains keep the flattened sack top perfectly aligned whilst it passes through the different steps of
operation. At the same time the sack is supported by a conveyor (additional equipment). The sack top is at first trimmed
parallel to the folding line which allows the closure of the sack
as near as possible to the filling level. In machines of FTSHD...-type the following operation is heat sealing of the plastic
inner liner or coating. Next, all FTS machines crease and fold
over of the sack top twice. Finally a coated paper tape is sealed to the folded sack top. As an option the machine may apply
a tear strip to the tape to enable easy opening of the sack.
