Series PT...
The PT...series sack closing machines from MEYPACK offer a
modular system for hermetically sealed closures on paper sacks
with plastic inner liners or coatings. The PT-closure is a triple
seal available in standard format or with an easy open feature.
With the traditional Standard closure (PT) the multi-layer
outer is stitched, a heat sealed tape is applied over the stitch
line and the PE inner liner is hermetically sealed. The tape prevents the ingress of insects and other forms of contamination.
With the easy open closure (PT-SOT, stitch over tape), the
inner liner is hermetically sealed by heat and a crepe tape is
applied over the sack top and stitched in position. The stitching
can easily be removed by hand without the use of tools and
without damage to the seal.

Dual machines offer the choice of standard or easy open

closure on one machine frame. The unit is equipped with two
sewing heads and two tape applicators, with one of each
mounted at the infeed and discharge of the machine. Changing
from one closure type to the other involves a simple adjustment and can be completed in a few minutes.
PT standard closure

Method of operation
The PT... sack closing machines use a continuous process.
Heavy-duty carrier chains ensure that the flattened sack top is
perfectly aligned as it is passed through the various steps of the
closing operation. In addition the sack is supported by a
conveyor (additional equipment). Once in the chains the closing
sequence is fully automatic, although the functions may differ
in sequence, according to the closure specification.
