We are all created in Gods image, and God has brought us all
together.
We come from east, west, north, and south.
What do you bring with you?
We bring diversity and splendour,
creativity and life experiences, joy and pain.
What else?
We bring art and poetry,
music and dance, food and culture.
Indeed, in you, the Spirit of God is alive and vibrant. For in the
beginning, God created and it was good.
It was all good. Everything God created was good.
(Look at someone sitting near you and say:)
Including you!

PRAYER OF AWARENESS (IN UNISON)

This day, Creator God, we remember the story of our beginnings. We
remember how you created all that is, and pronounced it good. We remember
that we have been given the opportunity and responsibility to care for your
creation. And, we know that we have not been good stewards. We have
fouled the water and polluted the earth. Most importantly, we have not
treated with care our brothers and sisters. Made in your image, we have not
always seen your image in others. Forgive us, O God. Remind us that you
created us, all of us, to love and serve you by caring for others. Then help us to
do just that . . .

Created In Gods Image
TUNE: Ellacombe (Hail to the Lords Anointed UMH #203)

Created in God's image, God's likeness we can see

in each and every person, no matter who they be.
So many things divide us; we go our separate ways.
When we should be united in common hymns of praise.
Created in God's image, no matter what our race.
We see our Lord's true colors, in each and every face.
It matters not our color, or whether short or tall.
We all are God's own children; God loves us one and all.
Created in God's image, how can we be so blind.
That we don't see God's image in all of humankind.
God made us male and female, to show us how to love.
We're partners in creation, a gift from God above.

Created in God's image, yet we are not the same.

Though each of us is different, God knows our every name
Our Parent, our Creator, gave birth to me and you.
So when we pray, "Our Father," we pray to Mother too.

Thy Word Is a Lamp
UMH #601, v. 1
[If you have prayer concerns or celebrations please pass those cards to the
center aisle as we prepare to pray.]
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
When I feel afraid, think Ive lost my way, still youre there right beside me,
And nothing will I fear as long as you are near. Please be near me to the end.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
