Air Cadet League Lottery Tickets

The Annual Air Cadet League Lottery is underway with cadet receiving their books of tickets to
sell last week. Each cadet also received a letter explaining the purpose of the lottery, the
reason we are involve and where the money goes. If you did not receive the letter, a copy is
attached as Annex A to the WROs.
22 Push-ups for PTSD
The Squadron will continue to participate in the Wounded Warriors 22 push-up fundraiser.
Cadets and staff who would like to donate are asked to bring a toonie this Wednesday. At the
end of the night we will video the Squadron completing 22 push-ups and challenge 2 other
Squadrons to join in. We hope this will promote physical fitness and help bring awareness to
the Wounded Warriors. Dont worry if youre not the best at push-ups, there are many ways to
modify the standard push-up so everyone can participate. For more info on the Wounded
Warriors visit:

Lions Fundraising Dinners
As you know, our Squadron is sponsored by the Fort Erie Lions Club. Over the past couple
years, we have also received some additional funding from the Ridgeway Lions Club. All the
clubs ask for in return is for us to provide a couple cadets to help at each of their monthly
fundraising dinners. As it has been difficult to find volunteers to cover these dinners in the
past, we are contemplating developing a schedule. These dinners are a perfect opportunity to
obtain your required community service hours and Capt. Chevalier will sign off for anyone who
attends. The dinner are also a great time for our Squadron families to attend the dinner, enjoy
some great food for a reasonable price, and support the Squadron through our sponsors. The
schedule for all the dinners can be found as Annex C to the WROs.

Recruiting
Cadets and their parents/guardians/families are encouraged to recruit anyone who may be
interested in the cadet program between the ages of 12 and 18 to join our Squadron.
Recruiting is open every Wednesday night. New cadets should have a parent/guardian attend
to sign paperwork and meet the staff. They should also bring with them their provincial health
card and proof of birthdate (i.e. birth certificate, passport, etc.).
Niagara Air Group Ground School
The annual NAG ground school schedule has been release (see Annex B to the WROs). Cadets
who are eligible to apply for either the Glider Pilot Scholarship or the Power Pilot Scholarship
are encouraged to attend. The training provided at the ground school is intense and designed
to prepare the cadets to write the scholarship entrance exams. Cadets who plan to attend are
to notify Capt. Chevalier of their intention to attend. They should also be serious about
pursuing these scholarships, attend all sessions, be on-time and prepared to learn. This is not a
squadron organized event, therefore transportation is to be arranged by the individual cadet.
Any questions can be directed to Capt. Chevalier.
Squadron Communications
In the event of a cancellation of cadet activities, the Squadron Facebook page and Website will
be updated as soon as possible upon the cancellation being confirmed by the CO.
Cadets/Parents/Guardians are encouraged to check the Squadron website
www.337squadron.weebly.com on a regular basis for weekly routine orders and other special
event information. Cadets who are unable to attend regular training are to leave a message
stating reason for absence on the administration phone 905-871-2775. Facebook or email are
not acceptable forms of absence reporting and will result in the cadet being assessed a full
absence for that activity.
