ZXMW PR10 V4 Series - Overview

Our latest family of microwave digital radios, leads the market in technology
innovation, network flexibility and the global transformation to IP.
Versatile, compact split-mount digital radio delivering data and voice
connectivity for cellular backhaul, enterprise, government, and public safety
networks. It is optimized for efficient, flexible PDH-IP operation in nextgeneration wireless networks.
Supports all major frequency bands from 7 to 38 GHz and up to 32 E1 or
16xE1 telephony plus 4x10/100Base-T data interfaces. Using innovative,
high-performance modem technology, it supports QPSK and 16 QAM
modulation over a wide range of channel band-widths software selectable
from 3.5 to 28 MHz.
Provides low-to-medium capacity PDH access and transport. It is an easyto-deploy, easy-to-configure, and cost-effective microwave digital radio.

IDU Software - TCP/IP

TCP/IP supports 3 basic applications:

SNMP, Telnet , FTP.
TCP/IP provide IP address to all interfaces (ports):
LAN
SNMP provides interface both ways (inputs and outputs) for Link
and Front Panel.
Telnet host can be used through LAN
FTP can be used through LAN

PPP Protocol

The Point-to-Point Protocol is designed for simple links which

transport packets between two peers. These links provide full-duplex
simultaneous bi-directional operation, PPP is comprised of three main
components:

1. A method for encapsulating multiprotocol datagram.

2. A Link Control Protocol (LCP) for
establishing, configuring, and
testing the data-link connection.
3. A family of Network Control
Protocols (NCPs) for establishing
and configuring different networklayer protocols.

Link installation and setup

A: ODU installation initial setup
( This procedure will describe an ODU to be mounted directly on
antenna.)
1.Using open /close wrench , attach the antenna mount to the
pole in a general direction using any kind of azimuth device,
compass, etc.
2. Secure the antenna to the antenna mount (about 1/4 of a turn)
and secure the bolts that hold the antenna.
3. Attach the ODU to the antenna and secure the 4 clips that hold
the ODU. When the polarization is vertical, the N-type
connector should be at 7 oclock.
4. Connect the RG-8 cable, coming from the ODU, to the N-type
connector and secure it by hand.
5. Connect a DVM to the BNC socket on the ODU. Set the DVM
to DC volts to a range between 2-20 Volts (measurement will
be 0-3 V).

Link installation and setup

B: IDU installation initial setup
1. Connect the Coax cable (RG-8 coming from the ODU) to
Coaxial N-Type female connector on the IDU.
2. Connect the IDU to a power source (22-60V DC).
3. Verify the polarity of the power cable. Polarity is especially
important when IDU is installed on a rack mount (19 rack).
4. Turn on the main power switch or power breaker to supply DC
to the IDU (-40 ~ -58V DC).
5. Set the initial parameters according to your system (Frequency,
Link Capacity and Tx Power).
6. Check the Web-CIT display parameters.
7. An RSL value of NA, means there is no signal being received.
8. Check for a reasonable RSL value (before antenna alignment).
9. Please refer to Doc ZXMW PR10 V4 Radio Microwave
System Operation Manual.

Link installation and setup

C: Final adjustment
1. The final adjustment is done, always on both sides of the link,
at the antenna. It has to be done one by one and not
simultaneously.
2. Using the DVM and the fine tilt adjustment of the antenna
mount, adjust the pitch and direction of the antenna to get
maximum received signal.
3. The average signal strength should be, in good weather,
above 2 V DC reading on the DVM, but also according to the
path calculation.
4. The voltage is positive (+) and increases with the signal
strength (the better the signal the more voltage).
***The best results are when both sides have the same RSL***.
5. After getting the best results on both side, secure the antenna
mount, close and secure the test BNC connector cap.

D: ODU installation initial setup
(This procedure will describe an ODU to be mounted separately
from the antenna using a wave guide to connect to the antenna).
1. Same as before, attach the antenna mount to the pole in the
right general direction.
2. Attach the ODU with a special \ separate mount to the pole.
3. Connect a wave guide between the ODU and the antenna.
4. Please verify the direction of the wave guide according to
the antenna and the ODU (vertical or horizontal).
5. Make sure the O-ring is in its place and firmly tight the wave
guide screws.
6. Follow the procedure (from step A4 and on) continue with
the ODU and IDU installation and final adjustment.
