ACCESS POINT CONFIGURATION PARAMETERS

FOR AXONE PALMTOP / PAD / DIRECT
1
WIRELESS CONFIGURATION
WAP610N-EU ACCESS POINT

OF

LINKSYS

Here below we reported the parameters that are necessary for the Wireless
configuration of the LINKSYS WAP610N-EU.
LINKSYS Access Point has already been configured to operate
with AXONE PALMTOP and PAD terminals, it is NOT necessary to
perform any kind of configuration.
The configuration data (password, encryption, etc.) reported
here below are strictly confidential and MAY NOT be disclosed.
ACCESS POINT CONFIGURATION:

Network name (SSID): TEXANET (in capital letters)

Channel: Auto (Access Point automatically selects the channel)
Security Mode: WEP
Encryption: 40/64bit(10 hex digits)
Key 1: 9ebb616b8d
Authentication type: Auto (both Open and Shared modes are supported)
DHCP SERVER: Disabled*

*NOTE
Since the Access Point has to be connected to a pre-existing network, it is
presumed that a second device with DHCP Server enabled is already
present (es.: router ADSL, server class OC, etc.).
To avoid conflicts in the assignment of IP addresses, LINKSYS WAP610NEU Access Point DHCP Server is disabled by default.
If no other DHCP server is available in the network, enable the same
function in the Access Point.

2 CLIENT WIRELESS CONFIGURATION TO ACCESS

THE WIFI NETWORK
AXONE PALMTOP and PAD are already configured to operate
with LINKSYS WAP610N-EU Access Point, NO further configuration
is necessary.
If other devices were to be added to the WiFi network, use the following
settings:

Network Name (SSID): TEXANET (all in capital letters)

Authentication type: Open or Shared
Encryption: WEP
Network Key: 9EBB616B8D
Key Index: 1

3 ACCESS TO THE CONFIGURATION PAGE OF

LINKSYS WAP610N-EU ACCESS POINT
In order to access to the Access Point configuration parameters the device
must be switched on and connected to the network through the Ethernet
cable supplied.
Proceed as follows:
Start the predefined Internet browser on a PC connected to the same
network of the device.
2. Digit the following link in the address bar: http://ip_address where
ip_address corresponds to TCP/IP address released to the Access Point
from DHCP network server.
3. Insert the following data in the window for access credentials request:
Login: // (leave the field empty)
Password: t3x4n
1.

Now you have access to the Access Point configuration page.

Please refer to the guide of your own ADSL router or to the network
administrator for information on the configuration of the DHCP Server
service run in the network.
You may refer to the utility network_test.bat as shown in the following
paragraph.

4 DETECTION OF ADDRESS TCP/IP ACCESS POINT

LINKSYS WAP610N-EU
If the Access Point is connected to a network where a DHCP server is
already being run (offered for example by ADSL router), an IP address will
be assigned to it according to the predefined network settings.
In order to know the assigned IP address, to be used if you want to enter
the configuration page through the link http://ip_address, it is possible to
start the utility network_test.bat of the utility DVD supplied in the device
pack.
This utility produces a report which is similar to the following one:

This report displays the network features.

Among these features we highlight:
Host
IP
192.168.1.2

address: The IP address of the PC where the network

test is run.

Network
IP
192.168.1.*

address:

The network address that is going to be

tested (all the hosts from 1 to 254 are going
to be tested).

Indicates that the host of IP address

Host 192.168.1.12 is alive 192.168.1.12 replied to the query and
therefore is present in the network.
192.168.1.12
00-25-9c-90-10-60
dynamic

Highlights the association between IP

address and MAC address of the identified
network device.

Every device connected to the network has an ID, called MAC address,
that identifies it correctly inside the same network.
Every LINKSYS WAP610N-EU Access Point indicates its MAC address
on the print on its bottom:

MAC address =
00-25-9C-90-10-60

Verify the correspondence between the MAC address of the

label and the MAC addresses listed in the test report.
In this example the IP address 192.168.1.12. was assigned to MAC
address 00-25-9c-90-10-60
Therefore the configuration page of the Access Point will be reachable
through the PC at link http://192.168.1.12.
All the other TCP/IP addresses are the addresses released by the DHCP
Server service to devices that are connected to the network, such as PCs,
printers, routers etc. and as such are not to be used.
