Weddings are a special part of the sacramental life at
Saint Margaret of Scotland. We welcome couples
in Saint Margaret of Scotland to celebrate their wedding
in our parish church. Please contact the pastor to
discuss this matter and schedule a date.
Those considering membership in the Catholic Community
of Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish are asked to fill
out and return the yellow registration form located in the center
pews. It would be a privilege to welcome you

to schedule a visit with you to secure a financial commitment towards the campaign. Please welcome them
as you would me. We need 100 percent participation
from all parishioners to make this campaign a success.
Please prayerfully consider what you might be able to
give to the campaign over a five-year period. Thank
you in advance for your consideration and generosity.

Tuesday, November 1, 2016 is the Solemnity of


All Saints. It is a holy day of obligation. The
schedule of Masses is as follows: Vigil Mass,
Monday, October 31 at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday,
November 1 at 8:30 a.m. At. Tuesdays Mass, our
school children will be present. There will be no
evening Masses on November 1. Please make a
note of this!
SMOSs SVdP Conference has been established and in
existence for nearly 2 years. We are seeking more Catholic people from the SMOS community to help us grow
and become a permanent fixture to serve the needs of
the poor.
Currently, the SMOS SVdP conference meets on Sunday at
9:30 am on a bi-monthly basis. Please come and join the excitement and bring your ideas with you on how we can better
serve the poor by attending an open-house and SVdP Conference meeting on Sunday September 25, 2016 at the gyms

The monthly pledge billings for the Archdiocesan Annual
Catholic Appeal pledges have been mailed. It is very important that these pledges be paid so that our parish will
reach and, hopefully, exceed our goal. Once the pledge
payments have exceeded our goal, all of the additional
funds are returned to our parish for use in our ministries.

You are invited to the Comedy For A Cause


parish fundraiser hosted by WGCI radio personality Leon Rogers on Sunday, October 16
from 4-6 p.m., in the Fr. Dan Mallette Gymnasium and Parish Center. The event is for
adults ages 18 and up. The ticket donation is
$10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
Please come out and support the parish while
also having a great time with your friends. Be
prepared for lots of laughs!
The Parish Oce will be closed on Monday, October
10th in observance of Columbus Day. The Oce will
re-open on Tuesday, October 11th at 8:00 a.m. Please
make a note of this!
There will be a Leadership Meeting on Thursday,
October 13 at 6:30 p.m. for ALL members of the
Pastors Advisory Council, Finance Council, and
Liturgy Committee. We will be meeting with the
leadership of St. Thaddeus Church as we prepare to
come together as one parish in the coming weeks.
We will meet in the Parish Meeting Room. Please
enter through the double doors next to the playground.

Parishioners will be praying the Rosary in the
Church parking lot on Saturday, October 15 at 12:00

ACADEMY OF OUR LADY REUNION SET FOR
OCTOBER 15
Academy of Our Lady/Longwood High School graduates
of years ending in 1 and 6 will receive a special salute at
the AOL Alumnae Associations all-school Reunion 2016
from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Hilton Oak
Lawn Hotel, 94th and Cicero Avenue, Oak Lawn. Hors
doeuvres will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. (cash bar). Tickets are $55 ($60 after October 10). Proceeds will assist the
Alumnae Oce. Class photos will be taken of milestoneanniversary classes. On Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m.,
alumnae may visit AOLs former campus (now the Chicago International Charter School, Longwood campus) for a
prayer service at the Lourdes Grotto followed by a tour of
the school buildings. Enter at Loomis Street just south of
95th Street, Chicago. Reservations are required for the
evening reunion but not for the campus visit. The current
Longwood Update newsletter includes a reservation form
