Project Background:

ABC Hotel chains is experiencing sharp revenue reduction for the past two
consecutive years. Tom would like to increase revenues by tapping into
the internet-based customer. Tom to engages an external development
team to do this project on a contract basis as the in-house team is not
competent.

The sales can be increased by enabling on-line queries and

reservations of rooms and services.

The development of this new website and provide training for an

internal team member

Scope Definition
Product Scope:

The upgraded web site must be able to accept on-line queries and reservations of rooms, also display
details of the nearby attractions in the multimedia format. It is expected that the New Web Site
can provide extensive information including the multimedia presentation of the surrounding areas

Project Scope:
Tom engages an external development team to do this project on a contract basis. to develop the
project charter for this project.

Assumptions
It is expected that the contract will be signed with the outsource development team on April 25 th.

The development of this web and training should be completed

by the 30th of September

Constraints
It is important to note that the development of new web site should not interfere in anyway with the
hotel business operations. The budget of this project has been set at 1,000,000.00. This budget
does not include the cost of new software (if required).
