Information Leaflet for BS Admissions
BS Programs:
The following two undergraduate programs are being offered at PIEAS:
1. BS Electrical Engineering
2. BS Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility Criteria:
At least 65% marks or equivalent in Matriculation/O‐level and 60% marks or equivalent in
Intermediate/A‐level examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects. Those
waiting for their results may also apply. However, the intermediate/A‐level result with at least 60%
marks or equivalent is required at the time of joining the BS program.
How to Apply:
Online:
Preferably apply online; application forms should be submitted on‐line at PIEAS web site.
Application processing fee (non‐refundable) is Rs 750 for online submission.
Applicants who choose online mode for submission of application forms should only send the
original bank receipt of on‐line fee submission and a passport size photograph, to Assistant
Registrar, PIEAS, P.O. Nilore, Islamabad through Pakistan Post, TCS, OCS or Leopard services before
the deadline. Please write the name of the applicant, his/her father’s name, NIC or Form‐B number
and the computer generated application number obtained while submitting the application form on‐
line, on the back of the bank receipt and the photograph. Copy of online bank deposit slip is also
available at PIEAS website. Save a copy of the bank receipt for your record as well.
By Post:
For those who do not have access to the internet facility may apply by post. The admission forms
can be obtained free of cost by sending a self‐addressed envelope bearing Rs.10/‐ postage stamp to
Assistant Registrar PIEAS, P.O. Nilore, Islamabad through Pakistan Post, TCS, OCS or Leopard services
before the deadline. The form can also be downloaded from the PIEAS web site
http://www.pieas.edu.pk. Application processing fee (non‐refundable) is Rs. 1000 for submission by
post.
For the applicants, who choose to submit application forms by post should send the application
form along with the original on‐line fee submission bank receipt to Assistant Registrar, PIEAS, P.O.
Nilore, Islamabad. Please write the name of the applicant, his/her father’s name and NIC or Form‐B
number on the back of the bank receipt. Copy of online bank deposit slip is also available at PIEAS
website. Save a copy of the bank receipt for your record as well.
For both modes of application form submission, the application processing fee must be deposited in the
university on‐line bank account no. 01‐100‐3251‐0 of Allied Bank Limited, Cabinet Division Branch,
Islamabad (Branch Code: 0793). Application form along with the bank receipt of processing fee must
reach the Registrar Office not later than the advertised deadline. However, there will be no bank service
charges for submission of processing fee through any branch of ABL.
Selection Procedure:
Selection of candidates is made on the basis of Matric /O‐level, F.Sc./A‐level grades and written test as
per following:
PIEAS Written Test 60% Matric/O‐level (Marks) 15% F.Sc/A‐level (Marks) 25%
Test shall be conducted in major cities of Pakistan as mentioned on the application forms. The test will
be MCQs based on English Comprehension, Aptitude, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Sample
paper is available at PIEAS website.
Orientation Program:
Once the applicant is selected for PIEAS, he/she will undergo an orientation program. The objective of
the orientation program is to familiarize the students with the curricular and co‐curricular environment
at PIEAS. The Orientation Program is of one week duration before the commencement of regular
classes.
Financial Support:
Need based financial support in the form of tuition fee waiver is available subject to satisfactory
performance.
Cancellation of Admission:
If a student is found involved in any undesirable or illegal activities, or provides false information
regarding his/ her academic background, PIEAS reserves the right to cancel the admission of that
student at any stage of his/ her study.
Fee Refund Policy
• Complete refund after deduction of Rs. 500/‐ if the request for refund is made before the last
date of depositing dues.
• Refund after deduction of admission fee if the request for refund is made after the last date to
deposit dues but before the date of joining PIEAS.
• Refund after deduction of admission fee and 50% tuition fee if the request for refund is made
after the date of joining during the orientation week but before the start of classes.
• No refund after the start of classes.
Fee Structure:
• Application Processing Fee (On‐line) Rs. 750/‐
• Application Processing Fee (by post) Rs. 1,000/‐
• Admission Fee Rs. 5,000/‐ (once)
• Library security Rs. 5,000/‐ (once, refundable)
• Hostel/Transport fund Rs. 2,000/‐ (once)
• Tuition Fee Rs. 1,250/‐ per credit hour* per semester
• Registration Fee Rs. 1,000/‐ per semester
• Examination Fee Rs. 1,000/‐ per semester
• Student Club Fee Rs. 1,500/‐ per semester
• Internet/PERN fee Rs. 1,500/‐ per semester
• Transport charges Rs. 5,000/‐ per semester.
• Hostel Internet charges Rs. 1,000/‐ per semester.
• Hostel Accommodation Rs. 1,500/‐ per month (shared accommodation).
*Note: The number of credit hours per semester varies in the range 17 to 19.
¾ The children of PAEC employees in SPS 7 or below (serving or retired) who are in dire need of
financial support shall be granted 50% concession in tuition fee and they shall also be eligible for any
financial support/scholarship if they meet the approved criteria.
