Matter is everything around you.

Atoms and molecules are all

composed of matter. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up
space. If you are new to the idea of mass, it is the amount of stuff in
an object. We talk about the difference between mass and weight in
another section. Matter is sometimes related to light and
electromagnetic radiation
A proton is a subatomic particle found in the nucleus of every atom. The particle
has a positive electrical charge, equal and opposite to that of the electron. If
isolated, a single proton would have a mass of only 1.673 ? 10-27 kilogram, just
slightly less than the mass of a neutron.
A neutron is a subatomic particle found in the nucleus of every atom except that
of simple hydrogen. The particle derives its name from the fact that it has no
electrical charge; it is neutral. Neutrons are extremely dense.
An electron is a negatively charged subatomic particle. It can be either free (not
attached to any atom), or bound to the nucleus of an atom. Electrons in atoms
exist in spherical shells of various radii, representing energy levels.
Chemistry is a branch of physical science that studies the composition,
structure, properties and change of matter.[1][2] Chemistry includes topics such as
the properties of individual atoms, how atoms form chemical bonds to
create chemical compounds, the interactions of substances
through intermolecular forces that give matter its general properties, and the
interactions between substances throughchemical reactions to form different
substances.
Atomic structure the structure of an atom, theoretically consisting of a positively
charged nucleus surrounded and neutralized by negatively charged electrons
revolving in orbits at varying distances from the nucleus, the constitution of the
nucleus and the arrangement of the electrons differing with various chemical
elements.
The periodic table is a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements, ordered
by their atomic ... Theperiodic table provides a useful framework for analyzing
chemical behavior, and is widely used in chemistry and other sciences.
An atom itself is made up of three tiny kinds of particles called subatomic
particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. The protons and the neutrons make

up the center of the atom called the nucleus and the electrons fly around above
the nucleus in a small cloud.
An ion is a charged atom or molecule. It is charged because the number of
electrons do not equal the number of protons in the atom or molecule. An atom
can acquire a positive charge or a negative charge depending on whether the
number of electrons in an atom is greater or less then the number of protons in
the atom.
Science is the concerted human effort to understand, or to understand better, the
history of the natural world and how the natural world works, with observable
physical evidence as the basis of that understanding1.
