COURSE SYNOPSIS:
This is a continuation of vocal technique with emphasis on advanced performance
techniques, warm-up and practice routines. In preparation for potential singing at the
collegiate level, students will be exposed to varieties of songs selected from a broad
range of serious genres to develop musical content, structure and style. Students will
also be given techniques on choir performance and management.
(Kursus ini merupakan lanjutan dari teknik vokal dengan penumpuan terhadap
teknik persembahan, pemanasan suara dan rutin latihan. Sebagai persediaan
nyanyian berpotensi di aras yang lebih tinggi, pelajar akan didedahkan dengan
repertoire muzik koral yang lebih mencabar untuk mengukuhkan pengisian muzikal,
struktur dan stail. Pelajar akan mempelajari teknik tentang pengurusan dan
persembahan koir)

RATIONALE OF THE COURSE:


I. Learn to correctly use the voice and techniques used in learning songs and vocal
production in singing and learning music for teaching and performing.
II. To equip students with good vocal production and technical skills prior to engaging in
singing or teaching.

1. Students must attend all lectures, tutorials, laboratory, studio or other activities related to the course, including courses with no final
examination (perkara 4.1 dan 4.3).
2. Student with attendance of less than 80% will not be allowed to sit for final examination (perkara 4.2).
3. Perkara 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 can be waived for students who suffer from health problems and must be certified by government or UPSI panel clinic
medical officer.
4. Student who has to represent UPSI/State/Country in activity that is directed by the government or UPSI, is required to obtain a

As stated in instructional plan, this course have three marks distribution type. There are one individual test and two
performances test. Please refer to My Guru2 for any updates from time to time.

Student need to sight sing the given six bar music notes on Solfege individually.

Form a group of SATB voice or any group of voice according to the songs given. Each group
consists of maximum eight students and each voice type consists of two students only. Every
single group needs to perform two songs. The name list of group member must be submitted a
week before the mid-term assessment. Each student needs to demonstrate the choir conducting
a two pattern.

TEST 3
(Group)

Form a group of SATB voice or any group of voice according to the songs given. Perform two
songs in different languages. Each group consists of maximum eight students and each voice
type consists of two students only. The group can also be either the same group member from
mid-term exam or new group member. The name list of group member must be submitted a week
