1. Is it a technical topic? Justify
Yes, this is a technical topic. This is because it is based on a coffee production
and coffee flavor plus aroma . This presentation explains about the chemistry that
involved in coffee. There are a lot of elements that related my field of study which
is chemical engineering.
Audience
1. How did you determine the knowledge level of your audience?
Most of my audience comprises of those studying chemical engineering thus they
would have sufficient knowledge to follow along with my presentation. However,
the lecturer is not of a technical background. Nonetheless, some parts of my
presentation is based on general knowledge which everyone
possesses.
2. How did this information influence your presentation?
By knowing this, I am aware that my explanations have to be easy and simple to
ensure everyone in the audience follows along with my presentation well in
addition to understanding the facts that will be shared.
3. How do you plan to gain the audiences attention?
I plan to do so by explaining about the process of making coffee and coffee flavor
and smell . Coffee is something that everyone knows and most of us have
consume it . I will use a lot supporting details such as images .

1. Introduction
What is the purpose and importance of choosing this topic?
The reason for me to choose this topic is to make my fellow classmates to
be aware of the chemistry that applied in coffee .Apart from , the taste
and aroma of the coffee can be altered with some techniques . The area
of chemistry is so wide , hence even simple things can be explained with
science due to the advancement.

How is the topic relevant to the audience?

Some of the audience might be a coffee lover or addict so this
presentation will fun and able to understand better about the beverage
they prefer. Moreover, coffee has become a culture, an economy, an art ,
a science and a passion.

What do you expect the audience to learn from the presentation

(objectives)?

I expect to leave them with the basic understanding of how the coffee
powder is produced . Besides that, the audience will exposed to the types
of coffee drinks in the market and how does coffee gets its flavor and
aroma , plus interesting facts about coffee.. Furthermore, I hope that my
audience will learn something new from my presentation.

What is your thesis statement?

Throughout my presentation, I will be sharing information and details on
the coffee.

How are you establishing credibility?

I have done extensive research on this topic thus I have gained a lot of
knowledge regarding coffee . I am also able to understand that the taste
and smell of the coffee is very subjective .

particular order thus, it would not affect the main message that I would

I will highlight the importance of this topic as well as summarize some of
the main points. Besides that, I will conclude the presentation in a manner
that will leave my audience with food for thought.

The purpose of this presentation is so the audience will be aware of what
are the drinking, how coffee is produced and where does coffee gets its
flavor and smell that keeps people addict to it.

Practice Session
1. How did you practice your speech?
I practiced in my room as well as at home during the holidays. Mostly , at night
with my sister or brother . I practiced around four times so far.
2. Which area of your speech needed improvement?
The improvement or amendments that required in me is the confidence to speak
in front of many people and speed of deliverance. Besides that , I should have
more contents and information regarding the subject and matter.
3. Did you stay within the time limit?
Yes, I do.
