The structure of chapter 1 of your dissertation.

The main text of your dissertation should start with an introduction followed by chapters, sections
and sub-sections. Depending on your course programme, appropriate chapters may include
Literature Review, Materials and Methods (or Methodology), Results, Discussion, Data Analysis,
Conclusions and Recommendations. (refer to chapter structure).
The introduction to your dissertation may well be the last part that you will complete (I correctly
said - the last part to be done), however, it should not be the last part that you think about!!!
You should write a draft of your introduction very early to lay out a broad outline of your ideas,
why you want to study this area, and what you hope to explore and/or establish, and update your
introduction as and when your are progr

Well after you are done with your intro

Time to dive into the academic research world - otherwise know as literature - to find the existing
theories that can help you with your topic.
Most of you would be searching for existing work or similar works to your research, alternative
methods to yours, the contribution of your research.
For a start, develop keyword from your research topic and your title! Use a powerful search
engine (eg scholar.google.com or any database index search) to seek the location of reports or
paper matching your keywords. Then using the ISBN or the papers' reference to have full access
to the content from the host journal site (such as science direct, JSTOR among others)

Plz refer to my previous post on #keywords and #search #engine

Once you have identified your keywords, and start seeking information, it is important that you
identify the categories of information sources from which you are digging the literature for your
research.

You ought to use your keywords to seek indexes and summaries of possible literature (related to
your topic) from tertiary sources (such as google scholar database). Using these indexes, seek
for the original publication or the processed reports (primary and secondary sources)
For an undergraduate literature review, you are expected to dig much more into the secondary
sources of information for you to situate yourself amidst the different existing methods and
knowledge.

Lit review is about investigating the ideas and facts that already exists at large and try to identify
some specific facts that will match or be useful for you to complete your research.
Literature means the existing pool of knowledge around different topics - facts and figures. Lit
review therefore means to assess these facts n figures to relate them back to your topic.
There are multiple sources from which you can draw information, refer to my previous
port #information_sources, but the question is what type of information you are seeking?
1. Exploration
To seek to explore that current topic to situate your stand among other research
2. Fact and Figure
You search to obtain quantitative references to support your research cause
3. Approach & Method
You seek the methods to be used for your research, and assess them for the best alternative
4. Comparison
Draw out existing researches to compare and present what is missing such that you can add up
new ideas
5. Assessment n tool
Research onto how you will obtain primary data for process (surveys and interviews) and the
statistical methods of testing n intepreting these information.
For an undergrad dissertation, your literature review ought to be from tertiary and mainly
secondary sources. The data collection (chapter methods) from primary sources would be for
another chapter

Literature c tou ban info ki available dan ban livre ek journal ou lezot source (chk post lor sources

Pa bliyer zot bzn fini rod ban #keywords pou fer zot lit review
Once zot ena keyword, servi search engines ou indexes pou rod ban reference

For undergrad 7 to 10 journal article would be sufficent unless no relevant content are available.
