This PNS ISO/IEC 90003: 2014, is identical with the said international standard. This means
that the DTI-BPS, through its fast track method has adopted the International Standards en toto or word
for word.
The PNS ISO/IEC 90003:2014 provides guidance for organizations on how to apply ISO
9001:2008 in the acquisition, supply, development, operation, and maintenance of computer software
and related support services.
The PNS ISO/IEC 90003:2014 also identifies issues on the application of ISO 9001 that should
be addressed and is independent of the technology, life cycle, models, development processes, sequence
of activities, and organizational structure used by an organization. This standard cancels and replaces PNS
ISO/IEC 90003:2007 (ISO/IEC published 2004).

BPS considers international requirements for instantaneous

water heaters in Philippine National Standard
The Department of Trade and Industry- Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) has adopted the
international requirements for instantaneous water heaters as part of the Philippine National Standard /
International Electrotechnical Commission (PNS/IEC) 60335-2-35:2016 - Household and similar electrical
appliances Safety - Part 2-35: Particular requirements for instantaneous water heaters.
This PNS is a modified adoption of the International Standard, IEC 60335-2-35:2015. It deals with
the safety of electric instantaneous water heaters for household and similar purposes that are intended for
heating water below boiling temperature. It also specifies the common hazards presented by appliances
which are encountered by all persons in and around the home.
The DTI-BPS adopted the IEC standard through its Technical Committee on Cooking, Heating, and
Household Appliances (BPS/TC 23/30).
The standard includes amendments in normative references, general conditions for the tests,
components, and supply connection and external flexible cords.
The DTI-BPS is the National Standards Body of the Philippines. It is the Philippines member to the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
