Allocation of National Prescribing Curriculum (NPC) Modules in Year 3

These modules are available on the National Prescribing Service website (http://learn.nps.org.au)
in the course categories for the National Prescribing Curriculum modules and Antimicrobial
modules.
The following modules must be completed in addition to the most up to date version of the
National Inpatient Medication Chart (NIMC).

Failure to complete the modules designated to each rotation will result in failure of the
rotation with a requirement to do a directed Elective in lieu of an Elective in Year 4 in the
relevant rotation.
Failure to successfully complete two rotations will result in failure of the year.
You MUST hand in certificates of completion of the NPC modules with the rest of your
assessment paperwork for each rotation, within 1 week of the end of the block.

Opioid dependence (NPC)
Acute mania in bipolar disorder (NPC)

Surgery

Bacteraemia (Antimicrobial)
Peptic ulceration with H. pylori (NPC)
Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism (NPC)

Womens Health

Post-operative pain and vomiting (NPC)


Urinary tract infection (NPC)
Anaemia (NPC)

Child Health

Respiratory tract infection in a child (NPC)


Seizure (NPC)
Adolescent depression (NPC)
