STORY TELLING
A picture tells a thousand words, and a video is only going to tell more. Storytelling is the key to
convey a message clearly across to the audiences. #MySekolah key judging element is to learn
how you use your video effectively in telling a story about your school.
SCRIPT WRITING
A good story will not happen without a good script and vice versa. A well scripted video will
make your production more lively and trigger your audiences imagination.

VIDEOGRAPHY
Videography is the technics you use to film your production. Everything related to the outcome of
handling a camera, The assessment area covers from lighting, focus, shooting angle and more.

CREATIVITY
One of the key elements why IACT College organized #MYSEKOLAH is to encourage creativity
among secondary school in Malaysia. Your video content should be original and an infusion of
creative element in it.
CROWD POPULARITY
The goal of a video must appeal to your audience, which is why there will be a voting session for
your work from 15th 28th August 2016, on www.mysekolah.org. Submit your videos earlier to
garner more votes.
MOMENTS
Every great movie has moments that either take your breath away, make you ponder on life or
even allow you to be transported to a particular time. However, drenching the short film in a
weep fest may not be a great idea. Plan and make sure that the judges will be experiencing
YOUR SEKOLAH.

COMPETITION JUDGING CRITERIA

The Video Production Clinic is a one day workshop to help prepare MYSEKOLAH participants to sharpen
their skills in video production.

Due to overwhelming response on VPC, we have added one extra VPC session on 23/7. Each session is
limited to 200 participants. First come first serve basis. #MYSEKOLAH Team will contact team captain for
confirmation. If previously you have registered and not able to attend, please update Ken at 017-3898096.

: 1 laptop per team, Mobile Phones & Data Cable
(Students will record their videos and transfer their recording to the laptop for editing.)

: Please ensure Windows Movie Maker is being downloaded in your laptop, or imovie if
you are using a Mac.

You are required to produce a short video to showcase your school stories.
Your video must only be between 2 5 minutes in length including credits.
You are required to include the following components in your video:
Music Element
The phrase of MySekolah must appear in a form of visual or audio.
Insert Images of IACT and #MYSEKOLAH logos in ending credits.
All video submissions must be in one of the following formats:
Windows Media Video (.wmv)
Mpeg-4 (.mp4)
Preferred language for the video is English. Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is allowed with
English subtitles.
Upon registering for participation, team leaders will receive a competition kit which includes:
JPG file of IACT and #MYSEKOLAH logos

You are not allowed to amend any files provided by IACT College which is required to be
included in the video.
Video contents shall not contain any profanity, obscene comments, sexually explicit
material, expressions of bigotry, political, racism and hate.
Credits must be given to the original owner, should there be any copyrighted material used,
be it in the form of music, pictures or footage.
Your submission will be judged by a panel of judges based on:
Originality & Creativity
Effective use of visual and images
Relevance to the theme
Techniques and story telling

COMPETITION GUIDELINE

Eligibility of participants: Form 4, 5, 6, Year 10, 11 and Senior Middle 1, 2, 3.


Video submission instruction will only be provided in the competition kit.
Each school is allowed to send MORE than 1 team where each team is restricted to Min of (4), Max of (5) members only.
All registration forms must be submitted by respective school counsellors or teacher in charge to the organizer. Fill up the
form and submit it to hello@scholarlist.me! Alternatively, register at www.mysekolah.org!
While the college has taken all precautions and care to provide an excellent environment for participants attending the
events, IACT College will not be held responsible in the event of any mishaps or accidents during the event, off or at the
venue.
The decision(s) of the judges shall be final according to the criteria set out and no further correspondence will be put in
to consideration after the disclosure of results.
The video must contain original content and has never been published or gained any prize in other competitions.
The organizer reserves the right to publicize winning video in any mass media.
The copyright of all videos submitted belongs to the organizer.
IACT College reserves the right to not publish video work, if content deem to violating any of our rules and regulation.
IACT college reserves the right to amend any terms and conditions, structure of events and prizes without prior notice.

of the videos as part of the criteria.

Upon completing your video production, please follow the submission instructions below.
Step 1: Go to www.google.com/drive and sign up or login to a Google Drive Account.
Step 2: Upload your #MYSEKOLAH Video to Google Drive.
Step 3: Right click on your uploaded video and find Get Shareable Link, then copy the link.
Step 4: Go to www.mysekolah.org, find the Submit Video button and submit your work by copying the video link in
the designated column.
Step 5: Fill in all the remaining fields, including a SUMMARY of your video no longer than 100 words, and you are done!

To get into the #MySekolah Short Film competitions Top 20 teams is no easy feat, you will need
to go through a rigorous selection process based on our judging criteria.
On 17th September 2016, Top 20 will be invited to attend the Screening and Prize giving
ceremony. Each teams will be given 3 minutes time to present their work to the panel of judges.
Your presentation will contribute to the overall assessment.
Attendance to Finals (Team must be present, if selected to top 20, otherwise will be
disqualified)
Presentation must be in the present of whole team
