INTRODUCTION
Combat hose reels are tested and approved by BS EN671 Part 1 by LPCB
(UK) and most models come with MED
The hose reels equipment and systems are elegantly designed and of rugged
reliability providing optimum performance in fire-fighting.
This manual is applicable to all continuous hose reels system manufactured
and supplied by LINGJACK Engineering Works Pte. Ltd.

TYPE OF HOSE REELS

Combat hose reels are designed for mounting on a flat wall where access is
limited or even in a recess area. Hose reels can be of manual or automatic
version. The automatic version is more effective and easier to use where the
valve is automatic open (after one revolution of the reel), ensuring immediate
water flow at the nozzle.
LINGJACK manufactured standard or slim types hose reels with options to
custom hose length/size to meet customer requirements and its functionality.
The specifications are as follow:Hose reels drum material can be made of mild steel or stainless steel
material.
Hose reel waterway can be made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel,
brass/bronze or Titanium materials (note: aluminum alloy strictly for fresh
water application only).
The various hose diameter available are inch, 1 inch, 11/4 & 11/2 inch with
hose length up to 30m. Note: Hose length longer than 30m are subject to
availability (make to order only).
Most hose reels manufactured by LINGJACK have a working pressure of 12
bar. On requirements, higher working pressure hose (20 to 30 bar hose) can
be supplied when necessary.
There are a few types of Hose reel nozzle supplied by LINGJACK i.e. Jet
nozzle (brass or plastic), jet-spray(fog) nozzle (brass/bronze) in in-line type or
pistol grip type.
There are 3 types of arm sets: fixed arm, double swing arm or offshore arm
with an option to install swing bracket or swing L bracket.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
a) With reference to Code of practice for fire hydrants & hose reel
system in Singapore
The minimum flow rate in a hose reel is at least 0.4 L/s with a jet of at least
10m in length.
For a 4mm and 6mm nozzle, a minimum running pressure of 6 bar and 2 bar
will be required at the entry reel respectively.
Maximum static pressure cannot exceed 8 bar.

Note: It is recommended to install COMBAT DF1 1 pressure reducing

valves at hose reel inlet to regulate the pressure to the desire pressure.
b) Offshore or other industrial requirements,
For LINGJACK 1 inch hose reel, the supply flow rate is approximately 160L/M
at operating pressure of 6 bar.
For 11/4 inch hose reel, the flow rate is approximately 212 L/M @ 6 bar
For 11/2 inch hose reel, the flow rate is approximately 360L/M @ 6 bar

Note: Above flow rate is tested on gunmetal & titanium water way with
COMBAT C18 nozzle. Flow rate are subject to change with different
equipment installed at water inlet i.e. pressure reducing valve. For actual flow
rate, kindly consult LINGJACK engineers for verification.

INSTALLATION GENERAL NOTES

Hose reels shall be installed in prominent area i.e. outside corridors, lobbies,
and exit routes to staircases but not inside staircases.
Hose reels should be installed in recesses so that they do not form
obstruction.
Hose reels brackets shall be firmly fixed to a wall.
Access to hose reels should not be obstructed by parking vehicles, furniture
or other equipment and no obstruction to hose being run out in either
direction.
A notice reading FIRE HOSE REEL shall be displayed adjacent to the hose
reel or on the door if hose reel is in a recess fitted with door.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
The recommended anchor bolt to be used
1) Mark hole position on Wall (Has to be levelled)
2) Drill hole into wall (minimum depth 30 to 35mm) and insert wall plug
3) Insert M10 anchor bolt
4) Mount hose reel onto wall. Secure using a washer & nuts
5) Ensure hose reel are levelled (use a level gauge when necessary)
