The car was an important invention. It has changed our lives in many ways. It has brought cities
and towns closer together. In early 1900s, Henry Ford thought of a fast way to build cars. Each worker on
an assembly had only one job to do.
The parts were on the moving belt. When one worker finished his job, the parts moved along to the next
worker,
cars were built at a lower cost. By the 1920s, a finished car came off the assembly line every ten
seconds.
