situated in the lower Rhine region close to wellknown German cities like Dsseldorf and
Cologne and to the Dutch border.
Its two campuses are in Kleve and KampLintfort.
Kleve
The town of Kleve has a population of about
50,000 and is very close to the Dutch cities of
Nijmegen and Arnhem. Due to its location it has
a very lively, international atmosphere.
Students will find lots of fresh air, ancient
abbeys and castles, unhurried towns and large
cities nearby. Sights include the 11th-century
Schwanenburg Castle, the Baroque gardens,
and a host of neo-classical and Grnderzeit
villas. The city offers lots of small shops, snug
pubs and an exciting nightlife, while the
countryside is ideal for cycling, horse riding,
canoeing or walking.
Kamp-Lintfort
Kamp-Lintfort is a former mining town with a
population of about 38,000. It is close to large,
buzzing German cities like Dsseldorf, Cologne
or Duisburg, where you will find Europe's largest
inland port. The city of Kamp-Lintfort is well
known for its 885-year-old monastery, KlosterKamp, which takes visitors back to revisit its
eventful history. Apart from historical sights, the
vibrant town is characterised by a welcoming,
neighbourly atmosphere, and offers a wide
range of shops, bars and sporting facilities,
some of which have been newly built, e.g. the
state-of-the art swimming complex.
