Isu / masalah / peristiwa


Om the parents during the sports day. Not much of involvement frWe were unable to have
our observations during this week and this week was full of programmes.

Pandangan dan perasaan terhadap isu / masalah / peristiwa


I felt that time was running really fast as I also needed to prepare the weekly lesson plans
and perform my duties in school such as the incharge for the Year 2 students. Besides that,
we were told that Saturday and Sunday was a very stressful week.besides that, all the
effort being put by the teachers including us receives less appreciation and this matter
should be given more emphasis.

Analisis isu / masalah / peristiwa


3.1

Punca / sebab

This problem may exist due to my ineffective time management skills and a lot of tasks that
needs to be done at the same time either in school or at home.
Too much of sports practice which consumes most of the time during teaching and learning
process.
Intervention of administration regarding the involvement of parents is not enough.
3.2

Kekuatan / kelemahan

The strength is the students are being prepared for the sports day.

Cadangan idea untuk menyelesaikan isu


There are several ways that could be done to overcome the problem mentioned earlier:
I should get organized and prioritize all my work properly.
I need to seek help and support from my supervising lecturer, my cooperating teacher, the
senior teachers or those who are more experienced, to discuss on the best way to

overcome my difficulties.

Tempoh masa yang diberikan untuk menyelesaikan isu


I will try to complete all pending work related to practicum before Week 11 because I will be
observed by a team of lecturers on next Tuesday.

Pelaksanaan langkah-langkah penambahbaikan

I managed to partially update the portfolio despite the hectic week. I consulted Dr. Sharmini
regarding the preparation that should be done for the Rentasan Cemerlang. Dr.
Sharminis guidance has been really helpful. I also told my colleague about my nerveracking days and asked her advice on how to handle the restless situation as she had the
same experience with the Rentasan Cemerlang last year. She reassured and motivated
me that everything will be fine. Despite all the motivation that I received from both my
supervising lecturer and my colleague, I cannot stop but feeling a surge of trepidation in my
mind.

7.

Tindakan susulan
I will continue to work on my portfolio and learn how to manage my time prudently. I will not
let all difficulties that come into my life bog me down from becoming a great teacher.

Isu / masalah / peristiwa


We were given reliefs more than one hour despite of having observations back to back and
last minute observations by the cooperative teachers. This week, I am having problem
dealing with the time management when conducting activities during the teaching and
learning session in class. The problem was related to students involvement in the activities
that was planned in class. The students were cooperative and putting a lot of efforts in
carrying out the activities that were assigned to them. However, the class has been a little
too noisy when everybody wanted to answer a question at the same time especially during
the brainstorming activity. Furthermore, students were unable to keep up with the time
allotted to complete the activities that have been given; particularly in group work activities.
This matter has interrupted the flow of teaching and learning session.

and prepare for BIG assignment which is a presentation. Besides that, we were told that
Saturday and Sunday was a very stressful week. This matter has interrupted the flow of
teaching and learning session

Analisis isu / masalah / peristiwa


Punca / sebab
We were having programmes back to back in the school where the cooperative
teachers have to chase time to have observations.Besides that, we have to attend all the
relief classes given by the teachers. The problem worsens when some students in groups
have different opinions and disagreements in completing a task. I guess that since they are
still kids, they are being intolerant, defensive, hardheaded and opinionated. As a result of
their immature behaviour, they were not able to solve their dispute and finish the task
within the given time because they refused to give and take. The only things that they could
do to solve their disagreements were by quarreling, pointing fingers, making long faces and
in the end refusing to continue their work. The time given to complete their work was just
wasted and flew away like dust.

Kekuatan / kelemahan

Maybe I let them to be too independent and was very soft towards them. As the
practicum was about to end, I started to give them a lot of face. They have proved me
wrong when I felt that things went overboard. They have really annoyed me and tried my
patience. Even though I have reassured them that their work was going to be checked later,
they continued to bug me to check their answers.

Cadangan idea untuk menyelesaikan isu


There are several ways that could be done to overcome the problem mentioned earlier:
I should be firm with students when it comes to work within the time limits. I should always
remind students about keeping up with the time allocated.
I should give simple and clear instructions to students before asking them to carry out
certain task during the teaching and learning session so that they fully understand what are
they required to do.
I need to seek help and support from my supervising lecturer, my cooperating teacher, the
senior teachers or those who are more experienced, to discuss on the best way to
overcome my difficulties related to time management and how to handle peer
disagreements in the class.
I need to inculcate good cooperation and teamwork among students.
I will continue to do more research from the reference books and the internet to find the
best activities that can be applied in my lessons so that students will not get bored in
learning English.

Tempoh masa yang diberikan untuk menyelesaikan isu


I will try to complete all pending work related to practicum before Week 12. I need to find
time during the weekend to complete all pending work. Planning an activity for students of
different abilities and dealing with students attitudes and weaknesses are no easy tasks.
However, I am sure that all these problems can be overcome if I continue to work hard to
improve my lessons. To be honest, I need to give myself some time to enhance and
develop my teaching skills as planning good lessons require a lot of trials and errors.

Pelaksanaan langkah-langkah penambahbaikan


I spent time with the students and had a talk with them. I made them to realize their

mistake. I get them to remember back all the rules by asking them back. I used the advice
given by my cooperative teacher to handle them. However, they were okay during the last
observation.
Despite all the motivation that I received from both my supervising lecturer and my
colleague, I cannot stop but feeling a surge of trepidation in my mind.

7.

Tindakan susulan
I need to be resourceful in planning activities which will suit the curriculum specifications
and the learning objectives within the time stipulated. I will always seek guidance and help
from my supervising lecturer, my cooperating teacher and other colleagues who have been
wonderful assistance so far. I need to be bold in trying new ideas and be optimist by giving
my students chances to get involved in the new activities.
