ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE 26th ANNUAL CONVOCATION


ON 22ND NOVEMBER, 2016 AND THE 31ST GRADUATION
CEREMONY ON 24TH NOVEMBER, 2016

We are pleased to announce that the Annual Convocation will be


held at the Basement floor of the ODL Tower, at OUT Headquarters
in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, from 0800-1300hrs, on Tuesday 22nd
November, 2016. The Main Lecture on the theme, THE ROLE OF
ODL IN THE PROMOTION OF THE INDUSTRIALIZED
ECONOMY IN TANZANIA, will be presented by His Excellence
Benjamini William Mkapa (Dr. Honoris Causa), the former President
of the United Republic of Tanzania. All Alumni, Staff, the General
public, and OUT well-wishers are invited. Prospective graduands are
also invited.
Furthermore, the 31st Graduation Ceremony of the Open University
of Tanzania will be held at Bungo, Kibaha, on Thursday 24th
November, 2016 as scheduled. Names of graduating candidates will
be posted on the University Website on 30th October 2016.
Graduating candidates must be at the venue by 08.00 am, on the day

of graduation, for a dress-rehearsal and roll call. Only names of


candidates present at the roll call will be read during the ceremony.
We remind that only those candidates who will have completed
payment of university fees will be allowed to attend the ceremony. A
non refundable fee of Tsh 52,000 (50,000 for an Academic Gown and
2,000 for Graduation Booklet) should be deposited into the OUT
IGU Account, NBC Corporate branch, Acc no. 11103033490.
Those who will have completed financial clearance from the DFA
will be allowed to collect Graduation gowns from the stores at
Bungo, Kibaha, from Monday 21st November, 2016.
We furthermore wish to announce that graduating candidates from
Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, Katavi, Rukwa and Songea regions will be
conferred their degrees at the 32nd Graduation ceremony, to be held in
early 2017 in Njombe region; further information about the 32nd
graduation will be released before December 2017. Some late, but
successful candidates who will have missed the 31st Graduation
Ceremony will also be conferred their awards at the 32nd Graduation
Ceremony in Njombe. These names will be published by 10th
December, 2016, after being approved by relevant bodies.
Once again, I wish to congratulate all those who have so far
successfully completed their studies.
