RULES FOR HINDI DIWAS


- All the participants are required to assemble in the seminar hall by 3:40 PM for the
competition.
- Each member in the team should participate in at least one event.
- The topic for the debate and poetry writing competition shall be sent via email 24
hours before the competition.
- The poetry writing competition is an individual and separate event.

RULES FOR JUST A MINUTE


1. Only one member from each team can participate in JAM.
2. Each participant will be given a topic on-the-spot, with no preparation time and the
speaking time shall be of 1 minute.
3. Topics would be picked by the participants from a bowl of chits.
4. No hesitation, deviation is allowed while the performance is on.
4.1 Hesitation is watched very strictly: a momentary pause before resumption of the
subject can give rise to a successful challenge by the judge, as can tripping over ones
words.
4.2 Deviation means deviating from the subject, but has also been interpreted as
deviating from the Hindi language as we know it, deviation from grammar as we
understand it, deviating from the truth, and sometimes even logic.
5. Participants have to use only Hindi words. Usage of words from any other language
would lead to under-marking.
6. The buzzer will be pressed twice. Once when 45 seconds have passed and second at
the end of one minute, signalling the participants that their turn is over.
7. The participants will be judged on SPONTAENITY, METHOD, CONTENT and
FLUENCY.
8. Usage of Foul Language will lead to undermarking..

RULES FOR DEBATE

The Debate is a team event. Each team shall have 1 member debating.
The Debate shall be a one on one Debate.
The for team and against team shall be decided based on a coin toss.
The time for a speaker is 4+1 minute.
The Debate would be in Hindi. Usage of words from any other language would lead to
undermarking.
6. Usage of foul words would lead to undermarking.
7. The marking would be done on the basis of three Grounds:MANNER-10
MATTER-10
METHOD-10

RULES FOR HINDI RECITATION


1. The participants are required to recite Hindi poems, either original or authored by
other poets.
2. The time allotted for each recitation is 3 minutes.
3. Marking will be done on the following grounds: Expression/ Pronunciation - 10 marks
Presentation 10 marks
Punctuation 10 marks

RULES FOR HINDI POETRY COMPETITION


1. Participants have to submit a hard copy of their original poetry in the seminar hall by 5:00
pm. The topic for the poem shall be sent to the participants via an email 24 hours before the
event.
2. Participants also have to submit a soft copy of the poem to the following email id:
solid@dsnlu.ac.in , by 5:00 pm on 16/09/15.
3. Plagiarized poems will lead to disqualification.
