NCFIC | FEAR OF GOD CONFERENCE

Welcome from the Director

Welcome,
We are thankful you are able to join us here in Ridgecrest to come before the
Lord to consider, The Fear of God.
This is the eighth year we have provided a national conference on a critical
subject. Many of you have been with us as we considered The Sufficiency of
Scripture, Love the Church, Gospel-Centered Marriages for a Glorious Church,
The Power of the Gospel, White unto Harvest, The Worship of God and The
Highway of Holiness.
The centrality of preaching
Notice that our conferences are focused on preaching. This is why we have
assembled 21 preachers to proclaim the sufficiency of Scripture on the subject
of the Fear of God.
We believe that preaching is the primary tool God has given His people for
transformation. The Bible makes it clear that the preaching of the Word of God is
the key to the revival we need today.
Our function
The NCFIC is an equipping organization. We come alongside churches and
families. Our objective is to proclaim the sufficiency of Scripture for church and
family life. To do so, we provide conferences, produce resources, encourage
church leaders and connect churches and families through the FIC network. This
conference is only one component of a multifaceted ministry.
We seek to describe the practical, nuts and bolts out-workings of the doctrine of
the sufficiency of Scripture, by explaining how the church and the family relate
to one another in a complementary way.
Why such a subject?
The phrase, there is no fear of God in this place, seems to characterize our
nation today. The moral and political morass we are facing is clear evidence. But
this is not simply their problem. Its our problem. Our moral condition and our
political leaders are simply a reflection of us (Gen. 20:11; Rom. 3:18).
Even in the church, people do not welcome the subject of the fear of God.
People seem to fear the fear of God today. It is a confusing and even a repulsive
idea for many.
Its time to fan the flames of the fear of God. We believe that we need to stop
and consider the fear of God more intimately.

NCFIC | FEAR OF GOD CONFERENCE

Welcome from the Director

The Bible makes it plain that the fear of God is something that you grow in your
heart. It is learned. It is part of the progressive sanctification of the believer.
What is the fear of God?
But what is the fear of God? How does it relate to the natural fears we have? Is it
terror? Is it the same kind of fear we have when we fear danger? Is it like the fear of
man? What kind of fear is the fear of God?
At this conference, we desire to answer these questions as we bring the many facets
of the doctrine of the fear of God before you.
Charles Spurgeon spoke of it in this way,
But what is this fear of the Lord? It is that affectionate reverence by which the child of
God bends himself humbly and carefully to his Fathers law. His wrath is so bitter, and his
love so sweet; that hence springs an earnest desire to please him, andbecause of the
danger of coming short from his own weakness and temptations - a holy watchfulness
and fear, that he might not sin against him (Hebrews 12:28, 29). This enters into every
exercise of the mind, every object of life (Hebrews 13:17).
Our appeal
Lets unite our hearts and pray for a true revival of this fear a fear that permeates
every aspect of our lives. Lets enter into a holy convocation to stimulate godly fear in
our hearts, our families and in our churches.
Our prayer together
We are praying for an awakening of the fear of God.
Come before the Lord and make your supplications known. Declare your desire
before the Lord, that this gathering would be a part of fulfilling the prophecy of
Jeremiah,
I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.Yes, I will rejoice
over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart
and with all My soul(Jer. 32:40-41).
Blessings in Christ,

Scott T. Brown
Director, The National Center

NCFIC | FEAR OF GOD CONFERENCE

1. Preserve and spread the true gospel from one generation to the next,
through biblically-ordered, gospel-preaching, Christ-exalting churches and
families.
2. Rely upon the Scriptures alone for all things that pertain unto life and
godliness (2 Peter 1:3), obeying the Bible as fully sufficient for the ordering
of the church and the family and resisting Satans deception designed to
supplant Gods goals and methods with the worlds methods.
3. Focus churches and families on the Word of God by restoring the practice of
teaching the whole counsel of God through exegetical preaching of Scripture
in the church by biblically qualified elders and daily instruction in homes by
fathers and mothers.
4. Establish the central importance of the local church for the equipping of
individuals and families.
5. Revive the biblically defined role and functionality of the family where
fathers diligently teach their children when they sittest in thine house, when
they walkest by the way, when they liest down and when they risest up,
and where biblical manhood and womanhood is restored (Deut. 6:7; Tit. 2:1-8).
6. Recover the relationally rich nature of the local church as the family of God
by following the biblical patterns for worship, discipleship, and hospitality.
7. Consult with biblically sound churches that will likewise plant churches,
which perpetuate faithfulness to the Word of God in matters of church and
family life.

Ken Ham

Since moving to America in 1987, Australian Ken Hampresident and

founder of Answers in Genesis-US, the highly acclaimed Creation Museum
(well over two million visitors since it opened), and visionary behind the
construction of a full-size Noahs Arkhas become one of the most
in-demand Christian conference speakers and talk show guests. He became
internationally known for his 2014 creation/evolution debate with Bill Nye
The Science Guy, which has been watched by an estimated 15 million
people.

A biblical apologist, Ken gives numerous faith-building talks to tens of thousands of children
and adults each year on such topics as the reliability of the Bible, how compromise over
biblical authority has undermined society and even the church (which is seeing a massive
exodus of young people), witnessing more effectively, dinosaurs, races, and so on. Ken
cofounded AiG in 1994 with the purpose of upholding the authority of the Bible from the
very first verse.

Andersonville Theological Seminary. He and his wife Donna have been
married since 1992 and they have two beautiful daughters, Dori and Aryanna
and one handsome son, Jonathan. Dr. McLeod is relentless in his pursuit to
compassionately teach with a biblical worldview. After spending his early
Carlton McLeod years in ministry attempting to pull young people out of the kingdom of
darkness with all the worlds methods, the Lord led Dr. McLeod back to the Bible to see the
critical need for constant, fervent, and Spirit-led biblical family discipleship. The D6
Reformation.org was created out of this desire. His other passions in ministry include:
discipleship, debt-free living, the covenant of marriage, the supremacy of Scripture, servant
leadership with accountability, integrity, obedience to God, family integration, biblical
manhood and womanhood, and missions.

Hymn & Memory Verse

Blest the Man That Fears Jehovah

Blest the man that fears Jehovah
Walking ever in His ways
By thy toil thou shalt be prospered
And be happy all thy days.
In thy wife thou shalt have gladness,
She shall fill thy home with good,
Happy in her loving service
And the joys of motherhood.
Joyful children, sons and daughters
Shall about thy table meet;
Olive plants in strength and beauty
Full of hope and promise sweet.
Lo, on him that fears Jehovah
Shall this blessedness attend,
For Jehovah out of Zion
Shall to thee His blessing send.
Blest the man that fears Jehovah
Walking ever in His ways.
By thy toil thou shalt be prospered
And be happy all thy days.
Thou shalt see Gods kingdom prosper
All thy days, till life shall cease,
Thou shalt see thy childrens children.
On Thy people, Lord, be peace.

NCFIC Internship Program

The NCFIC internship is a discipleship program designed to expand the
interns vision of God and refine their understanding of the church and the
family. It features reading of approximately 20 books, the entire Bible, writing,
and personal study. Interns are expected to be intimately involved in local
church life and mentorship by the men and families at Hope Baptist Church.
Interns are engaged in ministry to churches around the nation through audio,
video, conferences, and Internet communications.
Interns are involved in the daily work of the NCFIC offices and daily
discipleship with Scott Brown and David Brown, and by their involvement in
the activities and mentorship of Hope Baptist Church.

This internship is about personal transformation and deployment. Our

prayer is that the deposits we make will help to prepare a new generation of
church leaders.
One of the most exciting parts of our work at the NCFIC over the past
years has been what God has done through the intern program. We have
seen God work in a mighty way through the daily discipleship, hard work,
camaraderie, opportunity, and sacrifice involved in being an NCFIC intern. We
have seen interns grow and be stretched, convicted, and even transformed.
The application and information are online at the following website:
https://ncfic.org/internship.

John & Julie

When I had my need, I talked to a gentleman
who was able to answer all my questions and even
prayed for me on the phone.
For more than twenty years, Samaritan Ministries members have been sharing
one anothers medical needs, without using health insurance, through a Biblical
model of community among believers. Samaritan members share directly with
each other and do not share in abortions and other unbiblical practices.
More than 63,000 families (over 207,000 individuals)*
Sharing over $23 million* in medical needs each month
The monthly share has never exceeded $495 for a family of any size*

The NCFIC Presents

Join Us in 2017 in Asheville, North Carolina!

ur national conference in 2017

is taking place just a few days
before the 500 year anniversary of
Luthers 95 Theses nailed to the Wittenberg
Door October 31, 1517. This is why we are
directing our attention to the doctrine and
the fruit of the Protestant Reformation.
The heart of the Reformation was
repentance. This is the source of all times
of refreshing. At this conference, we will
be hearkening back to some of the great
doctrines of the Protestant Reformation
but it will be even more focused on the
reformations of church and family that are
in motion today as God continues to reform
His church.
We will be bringing preachers to
Ridgecrest from all over the world to speak

35

of the times of refreshing that they are

experiencing in their areas. They will be
explaining the great doctrines that lead to
refreshing and the fruit of repentance they
are observing.
The apostle Peter spoke of this in
his sermon, when he declared, Repent
therefore and be converted, that your
sins may be blotted out, so that times of
refreshing may come from the presence of
the Lord (Acts 3:19).
The first of Luthers 95 Theses reads
this way, When our Lord and Master Jesus
Christ said, Repent (Mt. 4:17), He willed
the entire life of believers to be one of
repentance.
It is in this spirit that we will be
conducting our national conference in 2017.
