Power Switch and Power Indicator

Long press power button for 2 seconds, remove until indicator turns to blue flashes, aircraft is power on.
Several seconds later, electronic speed control will start along with voice prompt.
After connecting with App, power indicator will turns blue and light permanently.
Long press power button for 3 seconds, remove until indicator blue lights off, aircaft is power on.

Status indicators
There are trichromatic lamps at the tail of device to show the status of aircraft.

Scenes and limitation

Optical flow ultrasonic positioning is apply to be used in the case of indoor flight or weak GPS in outdoors,
height range is 0.5-3m

Below condition may not positioning optical flow ultrasonic, please be cautious when using.

Above the surface of intense reflect light

Above the surface of water or transparent substance
Above the moving object or steam of people
The zone of lighting changes rapidly
Above the surface of particularly bright or dark
Above the substance with strong absorptive power toward ultrasonic
Above the surface with too sparse or dense texture as well as not noticeable texture

Ensure that the surface of optical flow camera without any blur

Please do not close to other ultrasonic devices(Other aircrafts included) when optical flow
ultrasonic positioning is working

Please keep away from animals when using since a unheard ultrasonic by people ultrasonic
sensor produce may cause animals anxiety.

Battery
The battery is specially designed for Dobby with capacity of 970 Ahm and a Voltage at 7.6V

Main Features:

Battery level: to show current battery level

Balance charge protection: automatically balance internal voltage to protect battery

Overcharge protection: overcharging will badly damage battery, battery will stop charging when voltage
up to 8.7V

Over discharge protection: Over discharging will badly damage battery, battery will stop outputting when
discharge voltage up to 4.6V

Short circuit protection: if battery detects that short circuit happens, battery will cut off inputting for
protection.

Battery Use
Please put batteries into battery holder before using

Do not put batteries out when device is working

Do not use bumped or damaged batteries
Please make batteries cool when using under high temperature environment
If batteries appear any unusual situation(like a strange odor, making very hot and
shapes/colors changed)during the using, charging or storage, please take batteries
out and do not use again.

Charge comes with fast charge technology, it can be charge quickly when used with matched charge adaptor.

Indicator will turn to permanent green lights which mean charge completed. Please cut off power source and
remove batteries.

Camera
Dobby is equipped with a professional high-definition camera, support 4208*3120 for shooting and
1920*1080 for recording.

Angle of lens
The range of lens is from -90to 22.5, every grades gap 22.5,they are -90, -67.5, -45, -22.5,
0, 22.5
You can adjust angle by yourself.

Micro-USB interface
You can connect Dobby with PC by USB cable to copy pictures and videos into PC when power is on.

Please make sure the device is power on before connecting with PC

Micro-USB interface is used for data connection only, do not connect with power source.

Reset
Long press reset key at the bottom of device for 3 seconds, Wi-fi will be reset which includes:
1. Restore defaults SSID and password
SSIDDobby-XXXXXXlabeled beside at battery holder, "XXXXXX" represents Wi-Fi's MAC address after
six numbers.

2. Wi-Fi frequency band reset to 2.4GHz.

App Introduction
Do Fun is a matched App, specially developped for Dobby. User can control aircraft and shooting via Do.Fun
instead of remote-controller. You can share the pictures and videos to social networking websites as well.

1. Log in / Sign up
Log in or sign up for an account via Internet.

2. Current height
Showing current height of device

3. Current distance
Showing the distance from aircraft to mobile device

4. Status bar
Showing the status of aircraft, there are 3 colors represent different status as below:
Red-Abnormal

Yellow-Warning

Blue-Normal

Warning status will be prior showed if more than one status happen, you can tap it to see all information
about status.

5. Connection status
Wi-Fi connected
Wi-Fi disconnected

If Wi-Fi is disconnected during flight, aircraft will return automatically when GPS positioning, land on
current place when optical flow ultrasonic positioning.

6. Location Status
Outdoors location status is normal (Number of satellites showing beside the icon7 means normality)
Outdoors location status is abnormal (Number of satellites showing beside the icon6 means abnormality)
Indoor location status is normal
Indoor location status is abnormal

If location status shows abnormality, aircraft will land at current place.

7. Battery
Battery available(Battery percentage remaining shows beside icon)
Low battery(Battery percentage remaining shows beside icon)

If battery life is too low during flight, aircraft will land at current place immediately.

Full-charged battery can be available for device working about 9 minutes.

Please properly arrange the progress of shooting according to battery level, charging timely.

8. Settings
After tapping this, you can set up App and see the information of "About"
Looking up some parts of "About" information need to connect with Internet.

Suggested Front of aircraft directly facing oneself when taking selfies while other suggested back directly
facing oneself in order to operate conveniently.

Beginner mode
Default: On
Beginner mode will be closed until whole flight time up to 30 minutes, meanwhile, Indoor flying, hand
takeoff/hand land and voice control etc advance functions will be unlocked.

One key to turn somersaults

After opening, left bottom in the main interface will appear

button, every tap on the button aircraft will

turn a somersault, interval on double-tap could not more than 1 second. The height of aircraft before turning
somersaults could not less than 1.5 meters(Indoor no less than 2 meters)

Control Method
Default: Motion sensing mode
Do Fun provides two mode for choosing, motion sensing mode and slipping screen mode
Motion Sensing means User takes advantage of sense of weight system on mobile device,by means of tilting
the device to control aircraft.
Swipe srceen means User takes advantage of angle of view from camera, by means of sliding screen by
fingers to control aircraft.

Change Wi-Fi information

User can change Wi-Fi's SSID and password. SSID need to set up within 16 characters, Chinese, English,
numbers and special character is acceptable. Password length should be 8-20 characters, used alphabet,
numbers and special character.

Frequency Switch
Default: 2.4GHz
Aircraft supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz

Do.Fun assists compass calibration

according to date. Tapping the above of interface "video" will switch to video interface

You can review, select and delete pictures.
The files in aircraft only can be deleted when connecting with Wi-Fi

Flight/Shooting
Please read Disclaimer and Battery Saftey Guideline to understand safety precautions before flight.
This chapter refer to introduce what we need to know and preper before flight, as well as operation of flight and
shooting.

Flying Environment Requirements

Ourdoors
1.

Do not fly in bad weather, such as rain, snow and wind.

2.

Please keep the aircraft be visible during flying, away from obstacles, power lines, tress, crowds and rivers.

3.

The flying field should be open, do not close to buildings and away from tall buildings in case GPS
positioning is interfered

4.

Please keep away from places with complex electromagnetic environments, such as signal tower, base
station etc. in case Wi-Fi signal get interfered.

5.

Please keep away from places with abnormal magnetic field in case compass get interfered. Not work
properly at the South Pole or North Pole

6.

Aircraft performance may be affected when flying 3000 meters or more above sea level, please do not try.
If GPS signal is weak, aircraft will automatically work in optical flow & ultrasonic positioning, please refer
page yeshu about requirements of optical flow & ultrasonic positioning

Indoor
1.

When using Optical flow & ultrasonic positioning, below flying zone should have texture and texture can
not too sparse or dense. Or you need to put a blanket with grid on the ground or table to meet the requirement.

2. It is necessary to be used in region with abundant light supply(Illuminance15 lux),e.g Indoor fluorescent
lamp in normal condition.

Flight Limits

Max height in GPS positioning: 50m

Max height in Optical flow & Ultrasonic postioning: 3m

Control distance: 100m (open and void, no interference)

No-fly Zone Limits

Do not fly at No-fly zone as per policies and regulations in your country.

In GPS positioning, aircraft will be limited leads to takeoff failure in no-fly zone.At this time, indicator will slowly
flash yellow light and and app popups a hint.

Pre-flight Checking
Please make sure following points are normal before flight.

1. Battery for aircraft and mobile device is fully charged.

2. Arms of aircraft are completely outspread
3. Propellers and other parts of aircraft are firm and no damaged.
4.

Lens of Optical flow carema and front carema are clean.

Calibrating the Compass

It is necessary to calibrate the compass before the first flight, otherwise system may not work
properly which affect flight safety.

The compass is very sensitive to eletromagnetic interference which causes abnormal compass
data and leads to poor flight performance or even flight accident. Make sure compass to
perform its optimal level by regular calibration.

Please calibrate the compass in the following situation:

Before the first flight and the first outdoors flight.

Flying place distance away from the previous one.

Aircraft status indicator light purple flashes quickly showing compass is malfunctioning.

Evident drifting occurs in flight, e.g the aircraft doesn't fly in straight lines.

Outspread the arms of aircraft before calibration in case compass be interfered.

Do not calibrate the compass where there is a existance of strong magnetice interference
such as large metallic container

Enter Do.Fun "Settings"-"Compass Calibration", skip to compass calibration page and start.
Compass Calibration Steps:

1. After spreading arms of aircraft, tap"Compass calibration" to start calibration mode.

2. Place the aircraft horizontally, indicator will permanently green on when meet
the requirement,then rotate slowly 1-3 circles. Please keep lamp on in rotation;
otherwise the angle readjustment is needed before continuing rotation. App will
skip to next page when calibration has done.

3. Place the aircraft vertically, head forward the ground. Indicator will permanently
white on and then rotate slowly 1-3 circles. Please keep lamp on in rotation;
otherwise the angle readjustment is needed before continuing ratation.

4. App will prompt when calibration completed at this time aircraft status indicator showing current condition.

Please do vertical calibration right away after horizontal alignment finished, do not pause.

Will be in effect at once, no need to restart.

Flight Protection
Dobby is desgined with multi-protection flight measures in order to ensure safety when using and avoid aircraft
getting accidental damaged:

When aircraft with too low battery or occurs serious problems, Dobby will begin to land
immediately.

If GPS postioning and optical flow & ultrasonic positioning both do not work properly, aircraft
will begin to land.
If Wi-Fi disconnected or App exits, aircraft will fly back in GPS positioning and land in optical
flow & ultrasonic positioning.

When App is running in background or receving a call, aircraft will protective hover and wait
app reopened.If battery become too low during this time, aricraft will begin to land.

If tilt angle of aircraft more than 45, motor will off automatically to ensure safety(except
somersault mode is working)

App Operation for Flying and Shooting

After mobile device connectting to Wi-Fi on aircraft(SSID: Dobby-XXXXXX, labeled beside at battery holder;
Default password: zerotech, can reset in settings), then open Do.Fun main interface, if positioning status
shows normal,connection status shows Wi-Fi connectted and battery is fully charged, that means aircraft is
ready to flight.

During flight, please ensure the aircraft within range of visibility and keep a certain distance
away from people.

 Do not touch propellers when touching aircraft( e.g. when using hand off and hand down
function)

Pay attention and do not crash with people or substance under indoor flight.

Takeoff/Landing
Takeoff
Long tap left main interface

"takeoff" button, 3 seconds later let go aircraft will takeoff immediately, up

to 1.5m away from takeoff point. This button will change to

"Landing" button.

Landing
"Landing", aircraft will land immediately. After landing, this icon will change to

plam and aircraft is 0.5m.
User need act hand down within 10 seconds after tap the icon, otherwise hand down function will close
automatically,

Flight control

Please operate mildly when the first flight. Observe flight direction and after adapting flying
speed and then gradually improve operation level.

Please do not operate aircraft with big range of movement in case accidental crash.

Motion Sensing
User takes advantage of sense of weight system on mobile device,by means of tilting the device to control aircraft

Forward/back/left/right Flying: press the big white dot on the right part of your screen and do not release, meanwhile
tilt your phone. To aviod false operation, motion sensing will be started until tilt angle is within 45 along with press
and hold the screen.
Up/Down: Fingers silde up/down on left of screen
Turn Left/Turn Right: Fingers slide left/right on left of screen
Default is left-hand throttle, can switch to right-hand throttle in "Settings"- "Hands Switch"

Default is head forward, can switch to tail forward in "Settings".

Default is motion sensing, you can switch to swipe screen in "Setting"-"Control method"

Swipe Screen
Users take advantage of angle of view from camera, by means of sliding screen by fingers to control aircraft.
Up/Down, Left/Right flying: Side up/down, left/right by fingers on certain screen.
Back flying: Two fingers silde towards each other on certain screen.
Foward flying: Two fingers silde as oppsite direction on certain screen.
Turn Left/Turn Right: After Tapping upper right
left/right. Tap

Single shot mode: every tap

Continus shot mode: every tap

"Voice +" and "Voice -" buttons on mobile device or earphone with controller also has ability of taking pictures,
whose method is the same as

Default is single shot mode, you can switch to single/continus mode and setup the number of
continus shot(default number is 3) in "Modes/Parameters/Settings"-"Modes"

Default is time-lapse photography closed, you can open and setup time for delay in "Time-lapse
Photography"

Ordinary Video
Tap

to enter Ordinary video interface to start recording. Tap

to stop taking a video and return back

to main interface.
No time limits during ordinary video recording, at feet of main intereface will show the time for videoing.
Ordinary video interface:

Motion sensing and swipe screen is available when videoing

10s tracking short video

In short video interface, press

in the list to enter 10s tracking video mode.

for recording, release to stop recording and aircraft will fly back

automatically. Short video also can be recorded when flying back if still press the button.

The longest time for recording is 10s, the foot of interface will show recording time.

Short video interface:

Angel of view during flying can be setted up in "Modes/Parameters/Settings"

Angel of videw during flying need to match with corresponding angle of lens which can be
adjusted by hand

Only in GPS postioning short video is available.

Recording will be closed if motion sensing or swipe screen is used.

Video Stabilization
Video stabilization is to eliminate image dithering and acheive image stability.It is available for regular recording
and 10s tracking short video, recommended to open.
Open video stabilization function: "Modes/parameters/Settings"-"Settings" choose angle of lens in 10s tracking
video. This function need to restarted when app open every time.
Close video stabilization function: Will be closed when temperature of aircraft up to 70or quit app.

Voice Control
Press

at the left of interface, a microphone icon will popup on the middle of screen, talking to mobile device

and speak instruction to control motion of aircraft.
