Computer Networks in Service of Learning English Language

Until recently, learning English with the help of computer networks has been an important topic
only for those who have a special interest in this area. But now computers are increasingly
present in schools and homes and their use has increased dramatically in many countries. The
teachers must now be sure to deal with the inclusion of computers in learning the language.
Computers which went into use in schools at the end of the 1950s in developed countries, today
are being developed every day more and more around the world. In the second half of the 20th
century, technology-related with education were among the most developed areas in the world.
Today, they have become even more more powerful, faster, more easily accessible, more
convenient and cheaper, and can be processed and stored with many more data.
The high speed is also the highest certified equipment, such as hard disks, CD-ROMs, laser discs
and printers for use with computers. Using this, a computer program can adjust sound, image and
video, along with letters. Even for UJPR software also can find a lot of easier.
Communication via computers and the Internet are re-fashioned use of computers for learning
languages. Computers are no longer just a means for processing and presentation of data, but
also a means of information, processing and communication. Students of English are now able
with the help of Internet simultaneously to communicate with other students or with people
around the world who speak that language. Computers can never replace Live teachers,
particularly in language learning, but they can help in mutual communication and understanding
among people. They can play a role in learning a second language or a foreign language as an
auxiliary instrument for teachers.
The number of teachers who use language learning computer-assisted (UJPR) and written
numerous articles about the role played by technology in education in the 21st century has
increased significantly. Although it has not examined how long it takes the ability to use the
Internet in education and regular schools continue to use computers in a limited way.
Given the wide range of uses, research and practice shows that if implemented properly,
technology based on the Internet network, well as learning through experience, and motivation
can achieve better outcome in language learning. In addition, according to them, the technology
based on the network Internet provides authentic materials for study, individualization, more
interaction, independence from a single source of information and global understanding. They
explain each of these points as follows:

Learning through experience

World network of Internet (www - World Wide Web) allows students to have easy access to a
large volume of knowledge and human experience. In this way, they can learn by themselves by
exercising. They become creators, not just recipients of knowledge. Since the way presentation
of information is not linear, users develop thinking skills and choose what they want to explore.

Motivation
Computers are very popular among apprentices because they relate to the fun and games, but
also because are considered to be in vogue. So, it has increased students' motivation, especially
when they offer a series of activities that give them influence and they are more independent.

More effective learning

Use of the Internet for learning can help students to strengthen their language skills, it affects
positive their attitude towards learning, help them to develop an independent strategy
and promote their self-confidence.

An authentic materials for study

All students can use different sources of authentic materials to read either at school or at their
home. Access to those materials is available 24 hours a day and at a relatively low price.

Increased interaction
Regularly access to Internet sites breaks linear flow of learning. By sending e-mail (E-mail) and
join groups receive news, English language learners can communicate with people who have
never met. They may also communicate with their classmates. In addition, some activities on the
Internet provide to students positive and negative feedback information, so that they
automatically documents your exercises on the Internet.

Individualism
Shy students or those who can not express themselves freely can benefit from individual and
team learni. Even those who achieved much, they can also achieve their full potential without
interference by their peers.

The independence of a single source of information

Although students may continue to use their books, they have the opportunity to avoid Closed
knowledge and to discover thousands of sources of information. As a result, their education
meets the need for interdisciplinary teaching in a multicultural world.

Global understanding

Foreign languages are taught in their cultural context. In a world where the Internet is used more
and more widespread, the duty of every teacher of English is to enable students to access Internet
and encourage them to feel as citizens of a global classroom teaching.

" Today's students think and process information which differ from those in basis of their
predecessors , with respect to " All of our students today have a " Mother language " digital
language of computer, video games and Internet. Today's teachers must learn to communicate
in a language and the style of their students . "
