Overview/Rationale

This lesson gives students an opportunity to define and identify


force as the push or pull as they can make objects start
moving, change direction or stop moving

Curriculum

Framework/Standard Expectations, Forces and Interaction: Pushes & Pulls

Plan and conduct an investigation to compare the


effects of different strengths or different directions of
pushes and pulls on the motion of an object.
Analyze data to determine if a design solution works
as intended to change the speed or direction of an
object with a push or a pull.

The students will be able to have a better comprehension to the


effect and the mechanism behind the push and pull forces in
their surroundings. In addition, they will learn how they can
apply these forces in positive ways. Such as, zipping their
cloths, open a door, rolling a ball etc

Such items are picture cards, balls, rope, etc
1. Students will work in small groups with
discussion.
