History Research Project Term 3

The Woollahra & Alice Springs Council

Due: Wednesday 21 September 2016
Overview
This unit provides opportunities for students to explore ways in which environments and social systems
and structures in local areas meet peoples needs, influence the lifestyles of people and contribute to
community identity. The unit focuses on the opportunities people have to participate in the community
and their willingness to do so. Students are to investigate the main functions that the council does for
its community and summaries what they do and how they manage it. To extend their research skills,
students on this rubric will be asked to compare Woollahra Council and Alice Springs.
Success Criteria
Below is a list of standards that we will be grading you on. Read through them carefully and make sure
you are aiming for your full potential. Remember, use the teachers as a support unit but first make sure
you have had a go before seeking assistance. We want to workshop errors and will not provide you with
answers as that is too easy and not positive learning.
