    Raking shores is a system for temporarily supporting unsafe walls. It involves fixing a wall plate to the unsafe wall with hooks and needles, and securing inclined rakers that rest against the needles at the top and are supported by a sole piece in the ground at the bottom. The inclination of the outer raker to the ground should be between 60 to 75 degrees. Sets of raking shores are usually placed 3 to 4.5 meters apart along the wall length.

    by means of needles. The needles which are 10 cm. x 76 cm. in section penetrate inside the wall for a
    distanceofabout10cmInturn,theneedlesarestrengthenedbyprovidingwoodencleats.Thetopendofthe
    inclinedrakersrestagainsttheneedles.Attheirbasetherakersaresupportedbyasolepiecebeddedinan
    inclinedpositionintheground.Therakersaresecuredtothesolepiecebycleatsanddogs.Insoftgroundthe
    areaofthesolepieceisincreasedsoastodistributethepressureoverlargearea.Inplaceswheremorerakers
    areprovided,theyareboundtogetherbymeansofhoopironorbraces25cm.thickand15cm.wide. The
