ability to complete successfully this period as internee, though I did not
conceal myself capable to do so.

Authority in Finance/Accounts Department, Faisalabad Airport.

Introduction:
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority is a Public sector autonomous body working
under the Federal Government of Pakistan through the Ministry of Defiance. It
was established on 7th December, 1982 as an autonomous body.
The CAA not only serves as a regulatory body on behalf of the Government of
Pakistan, its functions include provision of services such as facilitation, air
space management, air Traffic Control and Fire Fighting Services. The
Authority is also responsible for the planning, development and maintenance
of all Civil Aviation infrastructures in the County.
For the fulfillment of its function as a regulatory body, the CAA ensures
conformity to the standards laid down by the International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO), regard to flight safety, aircraft maintenance and medical
fitness of pilots, air traffic controllers and engineers. It is also responsible for
negotiating of air services agreements with other Countries.

Tasks:
1.

Regulation and control of Civil Aviation activities in the Country.

2.

Preparation of five-year development plans for the approval of the


Federal Government.

3.

Frame schemes in respect of: Provision of Civil Airports and Aerodromes in the Country;
Provision of Air Traffic Services to Aircraft;
Provision of Navigational Services to Aircraft;
Provision of Communication Services at the Civil Airports and
Aerodromes in the Country;
Provision of Aeronautical and Flight Inspection Services to all Aircraft
registered in Pakistan;
Provision of search and rescue services;
Provision of crash, fire and rescue services at all Airport and
Aerodromes to Aircraft in need
Management of Estates at Airports and Aerodromes; and

4.

Exercise control over:All the Civil Airports and Aerodromes in the country including their
planning, Construction, Operation and maintenance;
Air routes in Pakistan in consultation with the Federal Government:

Airspace management of Civil Airports and Aerodromes: and


collection of revenues at Airports and Aerodromes and at various
offices of the Authority.
5.

Hold negotiations with foreign countries to settle technical matters


arising out of bilateral air transport agreements with the approval of
the Federal Government.

Over View of Finance/Accounts:


The Finance/Accounts departments provides and ensure smooth and quality
working of all Accounts related matters accordance with Accounts policy rules
and regulations and instruction/directive issued by the HQCAA from time to
time for implementation in true letter and spent. Presently ERP Oracle Finance
and Supply Chain system is being implements since Sep, 2009 in CAA to carry
out Finance/Accounts activities to maintain disbursement and Revenue
Accounts.

ERP Disbursement Accounts (Payments)


During my tenure internship, I have learned regarding the following Disb
Accounts activities under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Irshad Tahir
(Accounts Officer):1. Checking Bills prepare invoices and (Disb) Payment Voucher for
payment.
2. Prepare Receipts Voucher on receiving Funds from HQCAA and other
Misc. Receipts etc.
3. Making Payment of TA/DA Advance & subsequent adjustment thereof.
4. Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statement.
5. Prepare Monthly Sales Tax/ Income Tax returns.
6. Prepare monthly fund demand for expenditures.

7. Prepare & maintain Cash/Bank Book.


8. Prepare monthly Disbursement Accounts return.
9. To get monthly reports from ERP Oracle Finance regarding General
Ledger,
Sub Accounts Ledger and Trail Balance.

ERP Disbursement Accounts (Payroll Management


System)
I have also learned about and got experience regarding Payroll of CAA
employees under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Obaidullah (Accounts
Officer) of the following Payroll activities:1. How to prepare & maintain monthly Payroll in general.
2. How to enter Payroll entries and Misc. entries in the payroll system
regarding update the monthly Payroll.
3. How to make deductions entries regarding G.P Fund, G.I Fund, B.Fund
and Income Tax & other Misc. deductions related to the CAA Employees.
4. How to make deduction of Advances i.e Car/Motorcycle advances G.P
advances etc and maintain deduction register.
5. How to get report from the Payroll system, regarding Payroll, Bank
Statement and all deduction Schedules and subsequent Payment
thereof.

ERP Disbursement Account (Revenue)


Further, I have learned about Revenue Accounts activity under the supervision
of

Mr. Qayyum Badar (Accountant) and Mr. Muhammad Shahid Javaid (Accounts
Officers) who has trained to me of the following Revenue activities in the ERP
Revenue system:1. How to prepare standard/Misc. Receipts on receiving cash/cheques from
the parties/concessioners.
2. Prepare deposit Chillan and deposit into the CAA collection Accounts.
3. Prepare input data for Non-commercial monthly billing and bills
distribute to the parties.
4. Prepare and maintain Cash/Bank Book.
5. Prepare Bank Reconciliation statement.
6. How to prepare monthly outstanding dues and make recovery thereof.
7. Prepare monthly revenue accounting returns.
8. To get monthly reports from ERP Oracle Finance regarding General
Ledger,
Sub Accounts Ledger and Trail Balance.

Preparation of Budget Estimates & Revised Estimates


Mr. Muhammad Shahid Javaid (Accounts Officer) Sectional Head
Accounts Branch has also apprised to me regarding Accounts History of CAA
and implementation of ERP Oracle Finance and Supply Chain in the CAA Disb
& Rev Accounting system.
During my internship, I have gone through the preparation of Budget
Estimates on prescribed input Form regarding revenue and expenditures of
CAA Faisalabad Airport and I have learned a lot in this regard.
I also know the preparation of Monthly Budget Review i.e. Budget Allocation
VS. Actual Expenditures of the (location ) organization and noted variation
( excess/ saving ) to control the budget allocation.

General (Office Management & Office Routine Work)


During my internship I have learned about office work, how to maintain
office files, correspondence within/out of the organization and other day
to day office routine work and how to disposal of the work effectively
and efficiently.
