Learning Focus
Introduction to Italy
- Gain some
information about the
cultural context of the
LOTE.

consonants and 5
vowels that make up
the Italian alphabet.

are made when certain
letters are placed

Learning Activities
- Compare the Italian and
Australian Flags and Coats of
Arms to see which elements they
have in common and which

- Learn some basic history of
Italy by interpreting the
symbolism of these elements.
- Labels the oceans, seas,
mountains, and each of the 20
regions on a map of Italy and
their capital cities.
- Compare the size of Italy and
its population with the size and
population of Australia and
consider the historical and social
aspects that contribute to these.
