Pioneers inEnergy Business

1991 is the year of the recognition of Lithuania's
Independence. Interestingly, a group of enthusiastic
and active people, aiming to use the available
scientific and business potential and to contribute
to Lithuania's energy history, began their business
history in the same year. These peoples goals
and ambitions were realized by creation of new
Lithuanian products and many other important
events that changed Lithuanian energy development.
Traditions, started during that period were brought
together and today they are successfully continued
by the group of companies Axis Industries.
The first meter

in Lithuania
The company started its history inthe Lithuanian energy in
1992 when it constructedthe firstultrasonic water meter
DS-02. The developer of this device is companys longtimeemployee - Virgilijus Pamaktis. The idea of the device
was born while doing a scientific project at the university.
A group of young scientists, who participated in the project,
had noticed a growing need of metering devices and decided
to develop this new area and engage in production of metering
devices. After Lithuania regained its independence, the scientists
separated from theuniversity and set up their own company.

The first
biofuelfurnace
The second important step in the history of Axis Industries
was made in 1993 in the town of Kazl Rdawherethe
firstbiofuelfurnace was built. This idea was initiated by
Meislovas Daugiala, who became a major shareholder
of a machinery repair company in Kazl Rda after Lithuania
regained its independence. So here development of the
biofuelboilermanufacturingbusiness was started.
After the introduction ofthe firstbiofuelfurnace in Kazl
Rda, wood industry also became interested in the possibility
to use biofuel. After therise inoilpricesthe interest was
showed by other industries, too. The idea, which wasbornat
the beginningof the business, and the discovered niches, not
only formed thecurrent Axis Industries" businesstrends but
alsocontributed to the history of energyindustry inLithuania.

Production data tracking and storage system installation works: cheese-making process for tracking and data
collection designed ,,Wonderware" product ,,Industrial Aplication Server", together with PEM (Production Events
Module) extension. The software uses a relational database Microsoft SQL Server 2000, so the system can exchange
data with ERP systems for example AXAPTA. PEM is designed by the ISA 95 standard guidelines. For reports used
,,Wonderware SuiteVoyager" system, together with ,,Wonderware Active Factory" extension. This system allows to
view graphs of process parameters, create reports of technological processes. The system is web-based technology,
all reports can be viewed in a standard internet browser.

supplied and installed biofuels boiler, warehouse, sort equipment. Installing an advanced biofuel facilities for 60
MW boiler operating, installed 125 m long belt conveyor for fuel lifting to 24 m height. Equipped with innovative sand
and fly ash transportation with compressed air systems. Installation of electrical and automation systems, installed
complex distributed parameter control system.
Reconstruction of hydrogen cooling system in the energy production unit No. 2. Replaced control equipment gas
analyzer AG 0012 to modern equipment in the existing power plant No. 3 to turbine No. 1 purity hydrogen generator
housing, concentration of hydrogen generator in busbar, neutral terminals and generator bearing housings. Installed
new hydrogen purity measurement stand with the two CALOMAT 6E analyzers.
