TIME-HONORED OASIS OF EXCELLENCE

The patronage of Sufis and scholars has always blessed the land of southern
Punjab. Khawaja Ghaluam Farid, Shah Rukne Alam, Bahaudin Zakria Multani are
some of the few saints who quenched the thirst of the knowledge seekers. The
state of Bahawalpur was lucky to have some knowledge friendly patrons as its
rulers who left no stone unturned to plant the flowers of learning in the
otherwise sandy dunes of Cholistan. Since its inception in 1974, the Islamia
University Bahawalpur has strived hard to follow the footsteps of the great
saints and has filled the mind and hearts of the youth of this area with an urge
to seek knowledge. The scholars of the land also contributed to this mission and
helped in the development of this great institution of the renowned state. The
rapidly growing university which has been working for years for the educational
and socio-economic betterment of the people of the region is going to reach
another milestone by welcoming the scholars to the 2nd International
Conference on Linguistics and Language Teaching in November 2015 at its
Baghdad-ul-jadedcampus in Bahawalpur, a prominent city of the Southern
Punjab.

Success Story of Academic Excellence

From the concerted platform of our prestigious institution and the
indulgent Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, we feel proud to
announce the commencement of the 2nd International Conference on
Linguistics and Language Teaching 2015. This reflects the unyielding
determination of our institution and unflinching support of the Higher
Education Commission of Pakistan to promote research and learning in
southern region of Punjab. The Journey towards excellence has borne
fruits now in the form of scintillating galaxy of the scholars serving in high
ranking Universities of Pakistan. The culmination of the transformative
drive launched by HEC will be beautifully seen in the academic
congregation which is to be held in November where we will offer red
carpet welcome to all our guests from far off areas of Pakistan.

CALL FOR PAPERS FOR ICLLT 2015

Language is the most vital aspect of human existence. Language brings us closer
to our fellow beings and becomes an important instrument in our socio-cultural
life. A global language like English has reduced the geographical distances and
has widened the scope of global contacts. This all pervasive impact of this
language has drawn the attention of the scholars to make it subject of inquiry
and we have a large store house of research works on English language teaching
and foresee to have much more through our academic congregation.

This conference focuses not only on issues related to language pedagogy but
also helps explore what researchers of linguistics can do to resolve social
problems related to language, notably the conflicts which claim lives at large. In
order to discuss these and other such issues of applied linguistics,
sociolinguistics and other areas of linguistics, the English department of the
Islamia University of Bahawalpur is organizing the Second International
Conference on Linguistics &Language Teaching.

The conference is scheduled to be held in November 2015. The aim of the

conference is also to boost research on linguistics and language teaching in
Pakistan by providing a broad and multi-disciplinary platform to the national
and international researchers to discuss the recent findings of their studies in
linguistics and language teaching. The event will provide an exciting opportunity
to build academic relationships and explore possibilities and capabilities of

research collaboration on national and international levels. You are cordially
