Gauge Linearity Work Instruction


1. Select five to eight parts that can be measured at different operating ranges of measurement system.
2. Determine reference value for each part using layout inspection.
3. Use one appraiser and the same instrument to measure parts.
4. Take five or more repeated measurements on each part.
5. Calculate part's bias

6. Put bias calculations into order of smallest to largest reference


7. Create a scatter plot by plotting bias average (y-axis) against reference values (x-axis) or bias against the reference value.
