( This assignment covers the following skills learning outcomes, taken from the Module
Guide K1, K5, S12)
TASK: Research Survey and Presentation
You will be allocated to a group by your tutor. Your task as a group is to design a STUDENT
questionnaire, carry out a short survey (sample size = 30) and then present your findings.

You are asked to conduct research amongst your fellow students


which investigates the following issue:The university needs your help to find out students present
participation in health/fitness/sports activities. We would like you
to research this area of interest, we would also also like you to

include what you as students regard as the benefits of having an


interest/participating in health/ fitness/ sports activities

You are required to complete the following:


a. The exact DIRECTION of your RESEARCH WITHIN YOUR CHOSEN AREA is for
your group to decide.
b.

You are expected to design an appropriate questionnaire.

c.

You are expected to use MS Excel to store research data.


d. You are expected to manipulate data on MS Excel to construct different types of
charts which you will then import to your presentation powerpoint slides. You should
submit your final MS Excel data file on Sunspace, as directed.
e. You are required to prepare summary slides of your report for a 15 minutes
presentation on your findings.
f.

Your Presentation design may be varied but must include the following in your
PowerPoint slides:
Powerpoint Slides (submit on Sunspace and use in presentation)
1. Group names and student numbers
2. Title of Survey
3. Purpose of Survey
4. Survey Methods used
5. Example(s) of questionnaire(s) used
6. Findings of Survey (various slides explaining your results)
7. At least 2 types of chart to illustrate findings derived from MS Excel data
8. Conclusions of Survey; what have you found out? What could
this mean? What could be done with this information?
9. Learning points from conducting the Survey exercise; what have
you learned from this task? How could you use this learning in
future?

NOTE: As you are working as a team, 5 marks have been allocated for this. You should
complete the Team Agreement, Team Minutes, and Plan (blank copies attached) and
submit on Sunspace.
