INTRODUCTION
JSC "RUMO" (old "Dvigatel Revolyucii) is known as one of the oldest machine-building enterprises in
Russia. It was founded in 1874. Since 1905, after purchasing the license for Diesel engines production, the
manufacture of diesels and gas engines became our main specialty. For a long time, over 70 years, the
company is the main manufacturer in Russia of the low and medium speed (350... 1000 rpm) diesel and gas
engines with the capacity from 200 to 1100 kW, both marine and stationary modifications and generating sets
on their basis.
RUMO engines operate under different climatic conditions, from arctic to tropics and high-mountings, at
various customers' sites: RAO GAZPROM, RAO UES of RUSSIA, Department of Defense, multiple industrial
enterprises and municipal administrative bodies in Russia and CIS countries as well as in over 30 foreign
states. They operate in stationary conditions as well as on marine, river craft and fish fleet and during the
exploitation have won universal recognition as reliable and long-lived machines (service life of 40 years and
over), economical, convenient and easy in maintenance.
It is fair to say that power industry of the Far North, Siberia and Far East of Russia is based on RUMO
stationary DG66, DG68, DG71, DG72, DG72, DG99, DG98, DG68 generating sets. Also, many
passenger, cargo and technical vessels, oil tankers, floating cranes and auxiliary fleet ships which navigate on
the rivers of Russia and CIS countries operate marine diesel engines, geared diesel engines and dieselgenerating sets of G60, G70, G74, DRA G74, DRA-450 type. Marine engines also are widely used on seagoing vessels and "river-sea" mixed navigation ships, auxiliary ships in the Navy, fishing and research vessels.
Our enterprise has recently developed up-to-date perspective diesel engines of CHN22/28 series and also gas
engines of GCHN22/28 series with an output from 680 to 1250kW, 750 and 1000rpm and, based on the same
diesel and gas generating sets of 500, 630, 800 and 1000 kW.
RUMO engines can operate on diesel, motor and heavy fuel with the viscosity up to 380cSt at 50C and raw
petroleum and gas fuels (natural and well head gas, producer gas, bio-gas, etc.).
RUMO PRODUCTS
I. GENERATING SETS
1.1. Stationary generating sets driven by diesel, dual-fuel and gas engines of 6(G)CHN36/45 type
The generating sets serve as an electrical power source for industrial enterprises and settlements in the regions
remote from central energy systems and as a reserve power source for enterprises with continuous
technological process.
The sets can be self-contained or can be switched in parallel with other analogous sets and unlimited capacity
network to create high power stations on their basis.
The sets are mounted at diesel and gas power stations, in closed heated and ventilated rooms, directly on a
concrete foundation or by using common steel underframe.
The sets design provides easy access to their parts and assemblies for periodical inspection and maintenance.
The scope of supply includes all necessary tools and devices for quick high-quality mounting of engines,
assembling and disassembling and maintenance.
The sets are designed based on the experience of exploitation of the early modifications of DG66, DG68,
DG71, DG72 and DG73 generating sets. RUMO's long experience in the production of the 4-stroke stationary
engines of this dimension serves as the proof of reliability and durability of these machines.
The sets can replace DG66, DG68, DG71, DG72 and DG73 generating sets with 100% use of the foundation
and also by improving above mentioned modifications for enhancement of efficiency and ensuring the
operation of the diesel type generating sets also on gaseous fuel.
It is possible to install an exhaust-heat boiler and an equipment for a heat recovery system, which allows to
obtain, in addition to the electrical energy, also thermal energy at a rate of 1kW of electrical energy - 1.1kW of
thermal energy.
The sets can be reliably operated in continental, tropical, arctic, sea climate and in high-mountains. The

1.2. Stationary diesel, gas and dual fuel generating sets driven by 6-8(G)CHN22/28 engines
Diesel generating sets serve as an electrical power source for industrial enterprises and settlements in the regions
remote (switched off) from central energy systems, stand-by power source at the enterprises with continuous
technological process.
The sets can be self-contained or can be switched in parallel together with other analogous sets and with the
circuit thus allowing to build high power stations.
The sets are mounted at stationary diesel or gas power plants, in closed heated and ventilated rooms, directly
on a foundation or shock absorbers.
Diesel gensets can be operated on diesel, motor and heavy fuels with a viscosity up to 380cSt at 50C. Gas and
dual fuel gensets can be operated on natural gas, oil gas and low calorific gas of low pressure (producer gas,
mining gas, blast-furnace gas, etc.).
The sets are mounted on the common steel frame which serves as a crank case oil pan. Complete genset
equipment is mounted on the same frame.
The scope of supply can include an automatic remote control system, which permits to keep the engines in "hot
condition" and start the engines automatically, to switch them into parallel with other sets and to regulate the
speed and load value.
Cooling system: water, two circuit. The scope of supply can include radiator-ventilation plant or mini cooling
tower.
The sets can be complete with an exhaust heat boiler and the system of heat recovery allowing to get 1,2 kW
heat energy per 1 kW electrical energy.
The sets can be reliably operated in continental, tropical, arctic, sea climate as well as in high-mountains.

1.3. Diesel generating sets driven by CH23/30 engines
The sets serve as the main and auxiliary power source on river, lake and marine vessels of unlimited navigation
areas; on floating cranes and diesel power stations as the main power source.
The sets also serve as the main power source for industrial enterprises and settlements remote from central
energy systems as well as stand-by power source at the enterprises with continuous technological process.
At the customer's request the sets can be mounted on a common sub-frame with the necessary equipment on a
mobile foundation in heated containers of "SEVER" type. The sets can be installed on the truck and railway
platforms, on special sledge and on pontoon.
The sets can be self-contained or can be switched in parallel with other analogous sets and with the grid. The
sets can be reliably operated in continental, tropical, arctic, sea climate as well as in high-mountains.
The sets are provided with double-circuit water cooling system. At the customer's request the scope of supply
can include radiator-ventilation plant to provide air cooling in regions with poor water supply.
Thanks to economical oil and fuel consumption and low service and maintenance expenses the cost of
produced energy is minimal.

1. MARINE DIESEL ENGINES AND GEARED-DIESEL SETS
2.1. Geared-diesel sets with CHN22/28 engines
Geared-diesel sets are intended for driving fixed pitch propeller of the marine and river vessels with any
automation level in the symbol of the class.
The sets can be of the right and left-hand rotation, right and left-hand type.
A thrust bearing should be provided in the reduction gear to transfer propeller thrust.
The sets are installed on the ship foundation: the engine - rigidly or on the shock absorbers, the gearbox rigidly. The connection of the diesel engine with the reduction gearbox is flexible.
The sets can be operated on diesel, motor and heavy fuels with a viscosity up to 380cSt at 50C.
The reversing is realized by means of reverse gear which reduces the propeller rotation frequency and
disengages the propeller from diesel shaft. The additional power take off from the reduction gear is possible. It
may be up to 140 kW and 1500 rpm.
The scope of supply can include automated remote control for local and distant control, start and stop, alarm
and protection of the sets by all most important parameters and corresponding with the requirements of the
International Conventions and the Russian Maritime Register.
The sets can be reliably operated in continental, arctic and tropical climate.
Thanks to economical oil and fuel consumption and low service and maintenance expenses the cost of
produced energy is minimal.

2.2. Marine diesel engines 6CHRN 36/45
The engines can serve as the main propulsion engine for the fixed pitch propeller of the river and sea-going
vessels.
The engines can be of the right and left-hand rotation, right and left-hand type.
The axial force from the propeller is not taken by diesels. The propeller thrust is transmitted via the thrust
bearing mounted in the shaft line.
The engines can also be mounted on the rubber-to-metal shock absorbers, which ensure decrease of noise
vibration and thus improve working conditions of the maintenance personnel.
The engines can be operated on diesel and motor fuel.
The engines are equipped with a fuel preparation system, which ensures automatic transfer from one type of fuel
to another involving control pulse or at reaching the temperature mode preset. The system of automatic
equipment ensures the alarm and protection of the sets in accordance with the requirements of the International
Conventions and the Russian Maritime Register.
The engines are provided with double-circuit water cooling system.
The engines are equipped with pneumatic system of remote automatic control (DAU) from a pilot house,
engine-room and central control post.
The engine design provides easy access to their parts and assemblies for periodical inspection and
maintenance. The scope of supply includes all necessary tools and devices for quick high-quality mounting of
engines, assembling and disassembling and maintenance.
The engines with speed value of 500rpm can be equipped with a step-down 2-stage reduction gear with built-in
thrust bearing.
The engines, widely exported, can be operated under different navigation conditions: arctic and tropical.

2.3. Marine diesel geared sets 6CHSP23/30 (DRA 450)
The sets can serve as the main propulsion engine for the fixed pitch screw of the river and marine vessels.
The sets can be of the right and left-hand rotation, right and left-hand type.
Axial force from the screw is taken by the thrust bearing, integrated into the reduction transmission;
Mounted on the intermediate frame, which, in turn, is rigidly fixed to the vessel foundation;
The sets can operate on diesel fuel according to GOST 305;
Reversal (changing direction of the screw rotation) is performed via the reverse-geared transmission, which also
decreases the frequency of the screw rotation and is capable of disengaging the propeller shaft from the
crankshaft of the diesel in operation;
The start and general control of the unit is effected via the remote control or from the local control desk on the
diesel;
The system of automatic equipment ensures the alarm and protection of the sets in accordance with the
requirements of the International Conventions and the Russian Maritime Register.
The scope of supply can include automated remote control for local and distant control, start and stop, alarm and
protection of the sets by all most important parameters and corresponding with the requirements of the
International Conventions and the Russian Maritime Register.
The sets are provided with double-circuit water cooling system.
The sets are equipped with pneumatic system of remote automatic control (DAU) from the pilot house, engine
room and CCP (central control post).
The sets can replace 6NVD26, 6-8NVD36 ("SKL", Germany) diesel types and L275 ("Skoda",
Czechoslovakia) on the river and sea-going ships, including tug-push-boats of the 1741 (PT-600), 81172,
P131, etc.
