1. Guitar (Nuevo Cinema Paradiso)

Milette Zamora, Ruben Reyes

The movie Nuevo Cinema Paradiso is about Toto, a man who has a successful
career on being a director and filmmaker. An event in his life wherein a friend of
him, Alfredo, has died and this made him go back to his hometown after a very
long time that caused him to reminisce about a lot of things his childhood, his
family, his interests, and so on. The song that Milette Zamora and Ruben Reyes
played was the theme song of this film. I consider their performance really
interesting because Im really into music and the guitar was the first instrument I
learned so watching people play the instrument I love the most really gets me but
at the same time, they were also able to put emotion to the song so I think that
the whole crowd really felt it.
2. Vocals (Somewhere Over The Rainbow)
Irene Delena
Right after the guitar performance, Irene Delena sang Somewhere Over The
Rainbow, an original song that was first performed by Judy Garland as Dorothy
Gale in The Wizard of Oz. This song has won the Academy Award for Best
Original Song back in 1939. I know this song by heart because I grew up
admiring the movie so I really appreciated it when Irene Delena performed it. It
was sung in a way that was really pleasing to the ears. It sounded very natural
and calming.

3. Guitar and Vocals (Spanish Ballad)

Martin Joseph Estevez
The next performance was a combination of the first two guitar and vocals. It
was my first time hearing the Spanish Ballad but that didnt hinder me from
appreciating the performance. I think that his performance gave the audience
and I a sense of a major throwback to the time wherein Spain invaded the
Philippines and how much influence it gave the country despite a couple of
unpleasant memories.
4. Poem (Shakuntala)
Jazmin Llana
Shakuntala is the wife of Dushyanta and the mother of Emperor Bharata. It is the
first time I heard this piece and I cant deny the fact that it was so beautifully
delivered. The story was a story of hope the hope of finding the love of your life
once again despite all of the obstacles and no matter how impossible it may
seem. It is also a story of destiny no matter how much the world puts two
people together, if they are meant to be together then there will always be a way.
Im not really a fan of overly romantic stuff, but this captured my heart and my
attention.
5. Dance (Oasioas)
John Paul Domingo and Co., Choreographed by Paz Cielo
Pandanggo Oasioas is an original here in the Philippines. It is commonly known
as pangdanggo sa ilaw and I am still very familiar with it because back in
gradeschool, we will be given dances during the Linggo ng Wika and this is one
of the dances assigned to our class. It was done very gracefully by John Paul
Domingo and his dancers.

6. Renaissance Band
The show ended by a performance of the renaissance band. The band was not
composed of the typical band nowadays, but with a saxophonist, a drummer, a
keyboardist, a singer, and two guitarist. I was impressed with the performance
because all of the instruments complimented one another and it sounded very
beautiful together.
