Lesson Introduction
Whole group activity: Time: 15 Minutes
Opening/Introduction:
Morning Circle:
Greeting, good morning song, ask about the weather and days
of the week.
Warm Up:
Review the previous lesson (phoneme s) by asking questions.
Lesson Introduction:
Show the students phoneme (a) flashcard and read it for them.
Show a video for phoneme (a).
Show phoneme (a) action.
Show the students words that start with phoneme (a)
flashcards.
Read the words for the students and ask them to read with me.
Active Engagement:
Search for phoneme a (whole class activity)
I will show the students a panel that has all the phonics and I will ask
some students to come and search for phoneme (a) and circle it.
Search for the words (whole class activity)
I will put phoneme (a) words and phoneme (s) words in the carpet and I
will ask one student to come and search for the word that I will say (for
example I will say the word snake the student will have to move to snack
flashcard then I will say apple he will move to apple flashcard and so on).
I will do this activity with some students.
General Comments
In my opinion I think that my lesson was successful because I was able to achieve my learning outcomes and the
students understood the lesson and acknowledge phoneme (a) moreover I was able to deliver the information
about the sound and the new words to the students in an easy way by showing the flashcards and doing variety
of activities. I used variety learning styles which helped me maintain the time and let the students build the
knowledge of the new lesson in a short time furthermore the students were active with me and they did good
work in the activities and they enjoyed them.
