Research Assignments

Literacy

Collaborate with Martha to develop


lessons or units.

Bring your classes in for book talks.

As the certified Teacher Librarian in the Library,


Martha collaborates with classroom teachers on
research assignments. Call her early on in the
process of creating your unit or lesson so you can
develop it around the most reliable information.

Collaborate with Martha & Katie to


teach lessons in the Library.
Martha & Katie can schedule your classes to come
into the Library where they will help guide your
students through the research process. They will
also create a research guide for the assignment
and pull books for your students to use.
Your students will learn
how to find topics and develop a working
thesis
the best place to find information for your
particular project
how to search subscription databases to
find reliable sources

Martha reads a lot of awesome books and loves to


book talk them to classes.

Bring your classes to events in the Library.


The more you bring your students to the Library, the
more they will come on their own.

We subscribe to NoodleTools, a
citation tool that allows students
to share their citations and note
cards with you.
