Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will
introduce the SRS activity: Students will already have a working knowledge of the American Revolution.
This activity will be a review of what has already been taught. The teacher will ask the students if they have
any immediate questions about the events and people that shaped the American Revolution. Once all of the
questions have been asked, the teacher will direct the students to the Socrative website using their ipads.
The students will log in and be instructed to complete the 8 question quiz on the American Revolution.
When all students have completed the quiz, the teacher will assess the results and proceed to review any
questions that appear to be problematic.

Identification of students:
Students will log-in so their individual scores will be available to you after the session
SRS activity will be anonymous
Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity
Students will each be given an ipad. As the students are taking the quiz, the teacher will walk around to get
a feel of which students may be struggling and which ones have a good grasp on the subject matter. As the
students complete their quiz, the teacher will be receiving real time results. When everyone is finished with
their quiz, the teacher will go over the answers and review any problem areas with the class.

Provide samples of questions/prompts to be given to students:

Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)

Yes

No

Immediate corrective feedback:

Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display correct response to the class
after the SRS activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? I want to make sure every student has a clear understanding of the material before
moving onto the next content area.
Use of data: The teacher will receive real time results from each student. This will allow her to review
any problematic areas and clear up any misunderstandings about the material on the quiz. This quiz will
not be awarded a grade as it will be used strictly for assessing the students understanding of the content
area. The results will be used as a discussion base for the entire class. As the teacher is receiving the
results, it will also give her insight of struggling students. She can use these results to meet with the student
and his or her parents to discuss possible strategies to improve that students learning.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: When all students have completed the quiz, the teacher
will discuss the results with the class. She will not display individual results. Instead, she will discuss the
problematic questions and do a review of the appropriate material.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. I hope to get a true insight on my students in
regards to their testing abilities, any struggles they may have academically and any other situation or
problem they may have while doing activities such as these. This activity is a great way to see which
students may be slower than others either in reading or test taking.
