    The50theditionoftheInternationalFilmFestivalofIndia(IFFI)willbeheldatanewpermanentvenueinGoawhichwillbefunctionalby
    November2019,GoaChiefMinisterLaxmikantParsekarindicatedtoUnionMinisterforInformationandBroadcasting(I&B)Venkaiah
    NaiduonFridayinPanaji.
    Mr.ParsekarconfirmedtoTheHindulaterinthedaythatthevenuewouldbeconstructedunderapublicprivatepartnershipmodel.
    TheMinistersuggestedthatthepossibilityofcollaborationwithHindustanBuildingandConstructionCompanycould
    beexploredforthedevelopmentofthepermanentinfrastructureforIFFI,saidMr.Parsekar.
    Mr.Naidu,duringtheIFFIreviewmeeting,suggestedtotheChiefMinisterandStategovernmentofficialsinvolvedinthe
    creationofinfrastructurefortheinternationaleventthattheStateauthoritiesshouldcollaboratewithaCentral
    governmentNavratnacategorisedcompanytoraisetherequiredinfrastructure.
    Duringthemeeting,Mr.ParsekarinformedMr.Naiduthat50acresoflandhadbeenallottedtotheEntertainment
    SocietyofGoa(ESG)aStategovernmentagencywhichhoststhefestivalwiththeDirectorateofFilmFestivals(DFF)
    forthedevelopmentofpermanentinfrastructurefortheIFFI.
    Theinfrastructurewouldcompriseofaconventioncentrewithacapacitytoaccommodate6000individualsindoorand
    outdoorexhibitionspaceahotelwitharoomcapacityof6001000individualsamultiplexwith1215screensandan
    officecomplexforDFFandESGstaff.

    TheIFFIinGoaiscurrentlybeingheldatvariousfacilities,includinganindoorsportsstadium,anauditorium,anda
    privatelyrunmultiplex.
    TheStateandCentralgovernmenthavebothexpressedtheneedtohosttheeventatasinglevenueinordertostreamline
    thehostingoftheevent.
    Mr.Parsekarconfirmedthatthevenuewouldbeconstructedunderapublicprivatepartnershipmodel.
