Introduction
This project will create a learning module for completion of an online course for Level
III tutor training. The project will encompass a complete review of Level I and Level II
tutor training.
Project Background
The project was requested by Tutaloo Tutoring who is working with Middle
Georgia State University to develop tutor training modules that will
encourage professional growth of their learning centers and tutors. Currently,
training at Middle Georgia State University consists of very outdated skitthemed videos, mundane written questions, and out-of-date reading material.
This training has no interactive components and is not user friendly. Tutaloo
Tutoring would like to create an online training course for tutors that is
College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) compliant with their Master
Tutors (Level III) rules and regulations.
Summary
The goal of this project is to provide student tutors with the knowledge and
training needed for the certification of Master Tutor. The unit being
developed will consist of:
Overall Goal: Tutors will be effectively trained and meet CRLA standards for
certification.
Objective 1: Tutors will be able to summarize the topics learned in level I training.
Objective 2: Tutors will be able to summarize the topics in level II training.
Objective 3: Tutors will be able to identify appropriate reactions given a situation.
Objective 4: Tutors will be able to identify key responsibilities while tutoring others.
