LTE Content Details SR14.00

ANR Phase II Enhancing support to include automatic neighbor removal from the NRT
Auto-RSI Selection Automatically Selecting the Root Sequence Indicators based on a
calculation done on the chosen PCI value

C-SON Integration1

DL-MCIM Coordinated resource allocation among neighbor cells to reduce intercell interference in Downlink

MLB Reduce extent of load variations among cells in a network

MRO Reduce the handover failures by adjusting mobility parameters to enhance mobility (handover performance)

VoLTE Enhancements Improve voice calls scalability and reduce latency

Prioritization of VoLTE Signaling (QCI-5)

One VoLTE call per UE

Up to 64 simultaneous active VoLTE calls per eNodeB

Allocation-size per-TTI-per-Voice-call is defined according to the defined codec, and doesnt change during the duration of
the call

RoHC Robust Header Compression profile 1 support for QCI-1

Short PDCP SN - reduces the amount of bits used for PDCP SN field from 12bits to 7 bits for VoLTE traffic (QCI1)

Emergency Call Support Prioritization of emergency VoLTE calls, PSAP support

CSFB to 3G (IOT Level) Redirection of 3G calls to a pre-configured ARFCN

UL Max TP Improvement Extending UL MCS support up to MCS23, improving Uplink
throughput

WiMAX Coexistence Phase-I Adding support for SSF-5 and the ability to control the LTE Start
of Frame, in order to coexist with a specific WiMAX configuration
1. C-SON Integration is Vendor specific. Supported C-SON Vendors in this release: AirHop

eMBMS Providing Multicast/Broadcast services with the ability to

connect to an external 3rd party MCE and eMBMS-GW (IOT with
Samsung)

C-SON Integration1
RACH Optimization Automatic configuration of the eNB with various RACH
parameters, as defined by the eSON server
CoD Cell Outage Detection based on cell monitoring

1. C-SON Integration is Vendor specific. Supported C-SON Vendors in this release: AirHop

IPSec & CMPv2 Supporting a single IPSec ESP tunnel (tunnel mode), for integrating with
Security GWs (SeGW). CMPv2 protocol for X.509 certificate exchange with a Certificate
Management Server (CMS) is also added in order to support IPSec based on Operator-Specific
certificates
PnP Enhancements

PnP over iRelay Allowing Airspan eNodeBs to run over Airspans iRelay backhaul solution

PnP with IPSec SeGW and CMS integration into Airspans PnP flow

CSFB to CDMA2K Supporting Redirection of MO/MT-Calls to a legacy 1x ARFCN (CSFB

Rel.8)
A1, A2, A4 Events Adding support for A1, A2, A4 events and trigger-based measurement gap
assignment only for UEs crossing A1/A2 thresholds

Call Trace Adding S1AP/X2AP/Uu (RRC) interface tracing to an external Trace Server
Load-Based Shedding Controlling the UEs activity (idle) timer, based on the Active UE load
on the eNodeB
QoS-Based Handover Allowing the operator to configure blocked QCIs that shouldnt be
supported in the eNodeB. UE trying to establish a blocked QCI triggers a handover to a
preconfigured list of EARFCNs.
UL Subframe Symbol Suppression The ability to turn off transmission during the last symbol
of 2nd UL sub-frame every 5msec used for enhanced WiMAX coexistence
