GEH IN SERVICE WORLDWIDE

Source of solutions.

ABOUT us
When founded in 1997 in Osnabrck /
Germany, GEH Wasserchemie was the
first and only company to produce a
granular adsorbent based on ferric
hydroxide. Our GEH granular ferric hydroxide, highly efficient and easy to use,
is now used successfully in water treatment worldwide.
All manufacturing and sales activities at
GEH are carried out in accordance with
the strict specifications of our certified
quality management system. We also
play a key role in drafting product standards for the industry, using our experience and our high requirements to set
the bar for ferric hydroxide adsorbents
used in drinking water treatment.

Powered by continuous research and

development, GEH is now used successfully in many other water treatment sectors apart from drinking water
production. We offer a product range
structured in close accordance with customers requirements; our worldwide
network of distribution partners ensures outstanding customer focus and optimum technical support.

Concentration in treated water

GEH is a granular adsorbent used in

fixed-bed water treatment systems.
Made from premium-grade raw materials in a patented manufacturing process, GEH is a product which stands
out with highest quality, top-notch
efficiency and exceptional cost effectiveness. Highly reliable and practically maintenance-free, the GEH

adsorption process does not require

costly instrumentation and control
systems or chemical additives. GEH
provides very selective adsorption and
therefore does not change the essential composition of the water treated.
It is a superb adsorbent for drinking
water treatment applications.

QUALITYASSURANCE
GEH is a synthetically manufactured
ferric hydroxide which complies fully
with the DIN EN 15029 standard for
drinking water treatment products,
including its strict specifications for
maximum permissible concentrations
of heavy metals.

GEH also fulfils all specifications of

the internationally recognized NSF/
ANSI Standard 61. Consistently high
product quality is upheld by our ISO
9001:2008 certified quality management system.

DESIGN OF GEH ADSORBER UNITS

Starting with analyses of the raw water to be treated, we can propose design
and dimensioning of the treatment unit needed to do the job including recommendations for its subsequent operation.

WATER CHEMISTRY STUDIES

Using laboratory tests and/or pilot trials, we can evaluate the adsorption capacity of GEH for your specific application and reliably predict the service lifetime
of your adsorption bed.

SALES

Our international network of distribution partners provides optimum response

to your needs from nearby locations.

SERVICE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT

We can provide additional support on request including bed filling and/or

evaluation of process data and treated water analyses in subsequent operation.

HEAVY METAL REMOVAL

Heavy metals and other toxic elements enter groundwater and soil
by various ways. Frequently encountered sources include contaminated
industrial sites, wastewaters and
clarification sludges. As such substances do not degrade by natural
processes, they create lasting health
and environmental hazards and
make water unfit for consumption.
GEH 101 has been used successfully for many years for heavy metal
removal in groundwater clean-up
as well as in treatment of process

wastewaters and landfill leachates.

GEH 101 adsorbs heavy metals such
as chromium, uranium, copper and
lead as well as other toxic elements
including arsenic, antimony, vanadium, molybdenum and selenium. In
such applications, GEH 101 is normally
used as a fixed-bed adsorbent but can
also be used in below-ground filter
walls or permeable reactive barriers.
Providing high adsorption capacity
and secure binding of contaminants,
GEH 101 is an efficient and cost-effective solution for a wide variety of application sectors.

ARSENIC REMOVAL
Arsenic is a highly toxic element which
occurs naturally in numerous groundwater sources, endangering drinking
water supply in many areas of the
world. One region where this problem
is dramatically evident is the Ganges
Delta in India and Bangladesh. In 1992
the World Health Organization (WHO)
recommended a 10 g / L limit for
maximum permissible arsenic concentration in drinking water. This limit
has since been adopted by most countries throughout the world.

GEH 102 was specifically developed

to achieve efficient and cost-effective
arsenic removal from groundwater. It has been recognized for many
years as a certified product for drinking
water treatment in various countries.
GEH 102 selectively captures arsenate and arsenite ions over a wide range of pH levels, therefore ensuring
outstanding adsorption capacity

PHOSPHATE REMOVAL
Phosphorus is an essential nutrient for
all living organisms. However if phosphate levels are too high in bodies of
water such as lakes or rivers, eutrophication can result. Phosphate normally
enters the affected surface water as
a result of agricultural run-off from
fertilized fields or sewage effluent
discharge.

track record as a phosphate adsorbent

over many years. Its outstanding adsorption capacity makes it ideal for
use in environmental water clean-up.
GEH 104 is also an excellent adsorbent
for secondary treatment of processed
wastewaters. Due to its high purity,
GEH 104 is also used to eliminate nutrients from lakes and other bodies of
water used for public swimming. Depending on the specific application,
the adsorbent can be used in fixed bed
units or underground filter barriers.

COPPER / ZINC REMOVAL

Copper and zinc are commonly found
in exterior components of buildings
including gutters, downpipes and
roofing. Corroded zinc and copper particles on such surfaces are carried by
rainfall and other precipitation into
nearby sewer systems and onwards
from there to receiving ditches or clarifiers. If present in high concentrations, these metals have toxic effects
on aquatic life in our environment.

GEH 105 adsorbents provide a simple

and effective means of controlling
copper and zinc pollution of soil and
groundwater. They are normally used
in rapid-flow adsorber beds or percolation systems. Besides roof run-offs,
GEH 105 is used with equal success
on other effluents as well including
water from road surfaces, process
waters and wastewaters.
