Lab 6: Creating a Method

SUGGESTED THAT YOU DO THIS LAB AS GROUP ON YOUR INSTANCE!

Oracle Demantra workflow is very powerful, and can be configured to support numerous
business applications. This lab is to show you how to create a method that would IMPLY a
workflow for Demo Talking purposes only! There is no workflow created behind it, but could be
used to illustrate a demo point or requirement.
1. Start the Business Modeler:
2. Log in using the following values:
User Name = sop
Password = sop
3. From the Configuration menu, choose Configure Methods.
4. In the Level drop-down list box, choose Product Family.

5. Double-click the New Method icon.

6. Enter the following values:
Name = Transfer to Legacy Supply Planning
Level = Product Family
Workflow = blank
Refresh Cache = Yes
Dialog Invoke Button Label = Activate

 Action When Initiated = Save Data

Action When Complete = Message and Ask
Security Threshold = Full Control

7. Click the Finish button.

8. Click the Close button and then exit the Business Modeler.

Run the method that you just created in your worksheet:
9. Log into Collaborator workbench using the following values:
User Name = sopxx
Password = sop
10. Open any worksheet using Product Family (ie., Vision Product Family worksheets)

11. In the Product Family right-click on Vision Elite Product Family to see your Method.

Our own integration to ASCP/APCC/SNO/Hyperion use this same basic capabilities and can be
illustrated using methods also (already there). This instruction is strictly for demo purposes!
