The A category is based on 15 hours (5 days),

B on 12 hours(4 days)
C on 8 hours(4 days).

The A category has a 3 hour slot 5 days a week.


The B category has a 3 hour slot 4 days a week.
The C category has a 2 hour slot 4 days a week.

Please note the following:

The following combinations was used for the A categories:

a.
Teacher can teach one full A section of 15 hours a week PLUS 3 days of
another section giving a total of 24 hours per week.
b.
Teacher can teach one full A section of 15 hours a week PLUS 2 days of
another section giving a total of 21 hours per week.
c.

This combination works for AM and PM and can be mixed.

d.
This optimizes the A with a 0.6666667 ratio per section and keeps the
contact hours under 25.
e.
The group that does 21 hours will be used for cover as only. The group with
24 hours should not be used for cover.

The following combination was used for the B categories:

a.
Teacher can teach one AM section of 12 hours per week PLUS a PM section
of 12 hours per week giving a total of 24 hours per week.
b.

Cannot be used for cover.

c.
This optimizes the B with a 0.5 ratio per section and keeps the contact
hours under 25.

The following combination was used for the C categories:

a.
Teacher can teach one AM section of 8 hours per week PLUS a PM section
of 8 hours per week giving a total of 16 hours per week.
b.

Teacher can be used for cover.

c.
Did look at teacher teaching three C sections to give 24 hours but there
was impracticality of shift timings.
d.
This optimizes the C with a 0.5 ratio per section and keeps the contact
hours under 25.

With these combinations there can now be ONE shift for all teacher from
8.30am to 4.30pm. This has many advantages from management.
