A Peek at Our Week:


Reading/Language Arts:
We exploring the elements of non-fiction
and how non-fiction text structure such
as sequence, compare & contrast,
problem & solution, description & cause
and effect helps readers understand the
text.
In Wrting, we continue to work on our
Narrative writing pieces by making our
character & setting descriptions better.
We are also adding transitions & looking
at different endings.

4th graders who
participated in the
Academic Olympics!
We raised $11,000
for our school!!

Social Studies:
We are learning about the Constitution
and the three branches of government.
We are also having a Mock Election on
Nov. 3rd to exercise our right to vote!

Math:
We are learning Math Expression Unit 2
Multiplication with whole numbers. In
this unit, students will learn different
methods to solve multiplication.

Science:

A Note from the Teacher:


Our Rider Pride Party will be on Thursday, 11/3 from1:30-2:30 p.m. Please try to
attend the Homecoming Parade on Friday, 11/4 @ 5:30. Allen Frear will be
presenting a float so come & watch. On Saturday 11/5, Rider Pride Day will be at
CRHS in the gym.
Please make sure you are having your child practice their multiplication facts daily
at home. All of our Math units form this point on will involve multiplication and
division. It is extremely important that your child knows their multiplication facts so
they will not struggle with the upcoming units.
Conferences are coming up on 11/21 and 11/22. A schedule was sent home in
your childs Wednesday envelope on 10/26. PLEASE RETURN ASAP as we are
trying to coordinate sibling confereces to make it easier for all parents.
