C) Recipe window
Yield at Header: Displays the yield calculated as the ratio of the total output to the total input.
Yield at Step Quantity Tab: The yield is derived from the yield defined in the Routing definition, and can
be overridden. Yield cannot be changed after the status is changed to Approved for General Use
Page 5 of 73
This field would be used generally in a steel manufacturing industry. A Heat Number is an identifying
number assigned to the product at the time of melting in an electric arc furnace.
For more details please refer the Oracle Process Manufacturing Process Execution user guide.
New field Stepis added on the header, this can be used to associate or to modify the material
association for batch steps. If no material association is done at Recipe or in the Material transactions
window, all the ingredients consumption would be recorded in step 10.
Step field default displays the step that the material is associated with in a Recipe
Users can note the below information for step change
Step LOV displays the steps in Pending, WIP and Completed status
Transacting the material or save would change the step material association to the new step
Material In Qty
Intermediate In Qty
Total In Qty
Yield Loss
Actual Yield %
Block of the Operation Yield tab represents the summary level transfer quantities and the
detail block represents the detail transfer transactions for the highlighted step in the summary
block.
The fields in the summary block ( Operation Yield tab) are not editable and are displayed based
on the detail records
UOM in the Operation Yield tab is same as that of the step UOM.
The Material In Qty represents the total actual quantity of the associated ingredients which are
Contribute to Yield as yes and converted into the step UOM
The Material Out Qty represent the total actual quantity of the associated products and By
products of type yield converted into the step UOM
If there is no step material association, then the Ingredients are assumed in associated in first
step (the step with the lowest step sequence number), the products and byproducts are
assumed in associated with the last step (the step with the highest step sequence number),
The Intermediate In Qty in the summary block is non editable as it is always derived from the
Transfer In quantity for that step from the detail block.
The Intermediate Out Qty in the summary block is non editable as it is always derived from the
Transfer Out quantity for that step from the detail block.
The Intermediate Out Qty can be entered only through the detail block for a WIP and completed
batch steps. The detail block defaults to step as per the step (dependency). Users need to enter
the To Step and Transfer Out Qty, Transaction date defaults to system date and time, however
these fields are editable, if required users can change the values entered.
The summary level Intermediate out quantity should always match to the sum of the detail level
transfer out qty transactions.

18. Navigate to Step Transfer Details region, place the cursor on To Step, select the step number 20
from list, enter the Qty Out as 45, press tab, Qty in, To Step UOM and Transaction Date defaults
19. Check the Step 10 details, the following fields would update
Intermediate Out - 45.00000 KGM (After the operation 10 progression transferred this qty to step 20)
Yield loss -5.0000
Actual Yield - 90.00000
Actual Cum Yield - 90.00000
Planned step qty 100.00000
Planned step cum qty 100.00000
a)Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 45.00000 (Intermediate Out)
Input to the step = 50.00000 (Material in Qty)
45.00000 / 50.00000 =0.9 i.e. in percentage 0.9 x100 = 90.00000%
b)Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input
(Step Cumulative input =Sum (Input to the current step from previous step / Previous step
cumulative yield)) + External inputs to the current step)
Step Output =45.00000
To find out Step Cumulative input =
Input to the current step from previous step =0
Previous step cumulative yield = this is first step so the value is 90.00000%
st
External inputs to the current step = This is the 1 step of the batch, so material in is 50.00000)
So again 45.00000 / 50.00000 =0.9 i.e. in percentage 0.9 x100 = 90.00000%
c)Yield loss for step 10
Yield loss = Total in Total Out
Total In quantity = 50.00000
Total Out Quantity =45.00000
\50.00000 - 45.00000 = 5.00000
20. Complete the step 10 (Actions >Complete Step), Step status changes to Completed and 45.00000
qty updated in step 20 as Intermediate in (Step 10 Intermediate Out = Step 20 Intermediate in)
21. Release step 20 (Actions > Release Step), step status changes to WIP
Page 40 of 73
After the material transaction for step 20, batch step 20 updates are
Material In Qty=50.00000
Intermediate In Qty = 45.00000
Total In Qty = 95.00000 ( Material In qty + Intermediate In qty)
The total quantity of 95.00000 is showing as Yield Loss, as we have not transferred the quantities to
step 30, once transfer is done this is going to change as per transfer.
23.Navigate to Step Transfer Details region, place the cursor on To Step, select the step number 30
from list, enter the Qty Out as 95, press tab, Qty in, To Step UOM and Transaction Date defaults.
This would updates the following fields
Yield loss = .00000
Actual Yield = 100.00000
Actual Cum Yield = 95.00000

75.00000(85.71428) +0.00000
75.00000/ 85.71428= 87.50000
c)Yield loss for step 40
Yield loss = Total in Total Out
Total In quantity = 145.00000
Total Out Quantity =140.00000
145.00000 - 140.00000 = 5.00000
32.Close the batch steps window

a )Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 90.00000
Input to the step = Total In 100.00000
90.00000 / 100.00000 = 0.900000 i.e. in percentage 0.900000 x100 = 90.00000%
b) Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input
(Step Cumulative input =Sum (Input to the current step from previous step / Previous step cumulative
yield)) + External inputs to the current step)
Step Output =90.00000
To find out Step Cumulative input =
Input to the current step from previous step = 50.00000
Previous step cumulative yield = 100.0000%
External inputs to the current step = Material in is 50.00000
So as per formula
(50.00000/100.0000 x100)+50.00000
0.50000 X100 = 50.00000 + 50.00000 = 100.00000
90.00000/100.00000 = 0.900000 ( In percentage 0.900000 X 100 ) = 90.00000%
C) Yield loss for step 30
Yield loss = Total in Total Out
Total In quantity = 100.00000
Total Out Quantity =90.00000
100.00000 - 90.00000 = 10.00000
Done the WIP Byproduct Completion transaction, but the Material out quantity is not updated with the
yield, because the Byproduct type defined as Waste.
Yield and Yield loss calculations for step 30
a) Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 130.00000
Input to the step = Total In 140.00000
130.00000 / 140.00000 = 0.9285714 i.e. in percentage 0.9285714 x100 = 92.85714%
b)Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input
(Step Cumulative input =Sum (Input to the current step from previous step / Previous step cumulative
yield)) + External inputs to the current step)
Step Output =130.00000
To find out Step Cumulative input =
Input to the current step from previous step = 90.00000
Previous step cumulative yield = 90.00000%
External inputs to the current step = Material in is 50.00000
So as per formula
(90.00000/90.0000 x100)+50.00000
a)Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 125.00000
Input to the step = Total In 130.00000
125.00000 / 130.00000 = 96.15385 i.e. in percentage 96.15385 x100 = 96.15385%
b)Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input

Step 10
A) Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 50.00000
Input to the step = Total In 150.00000
50.00000 / 50.00000 = 1.00000 . In percentage 1.00000 x100 = 1.00000%
B) Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input
(Step Cumulative input =Sum (Input to the current step from previous step / Previous step cumulative
yield)) + External inputs to the current step)
Step Output =50.00000
To find out Step Cumulative input =
Input to the current step from previous step = 0.0000
Previous step cumulative yield = Nil. As this is the first step for the batch
External inputs to the current step = Material in is 0.00000
So as per formula
(0/0 x100)+50.00000
50.00000 / 50.00000 = 1.00000. To display in percentage 1.00000 X 100.0000 = 100.00000%
c) Yield loss for step 10

Step 20
a)Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 60.00000
Input to the step = Total In 65.00000
60.00000 / 65.00000 = 0.9230769. To display in percentage 0.9230769x100 = 92.30769
b) Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input
(Step Cumulative input =Sum (Input to the current step from previous step / Previous step cumulative
yield)) + External inputs to the current step)
Step Output =60.00000
To find out Step Cumulative input =
Input to the current step from previous step = 15.0000
Page 61 of 73
Step 30
a)Actual Yield (Step Yield) = Output coming out of the step / Input to the step
Output coming out of the step = 125.00000
Input to the step = Total In 130.00000
125.00000 / 130.00000 = 0.9615385. To display in percentage 0.9515385 X 100 = 96.15385%

Input to the step = Total In 140.00000
135.00000 / 140.00000 = 0.9642857. To display in percentage 0.9642857 X 100 = 96.42857
b)Actual Cumulative Yield = Step Output / Step cum Input
(Step Cumulative input =Sum (Input to the current step from previous step / Previous step cumulative
yield)) + External inputs to the current step)
Step Output =135.00000
To find out Step Cumulative input =
From step 10
Intermediate in 15.0000 / 100.00000 (Actual Cum Yield)
15.00000 / 100.00000 = 0.150000.
0.150000 X 100 = 15.00000
From Step 30
Input to the current step from previous step = 125.00000

Step 10
Plan Cum Yield (Planned Step Cum yield) =Step Plan Cum Out put / Setp Cum Input
Step Plan Cum Out put =SUM(Actual input to the current step * (Previous step plan cum yield / Previous
step Actual Cum yield )) + External Input ) * Current step plan yield
Step Cum Input =SUM ( Input to the current step from Previous step / Previous Step Cum Yield ) +
External Inputs coming to the step
Step plan Cum Output
SUM (50 X ( nil / nil ) *100 = 50.00000%
Step Cum input
SUM (0.00000 / 0.0000) + 50.00000 = 50.0000
Plan Cum Yield (Planned Step Cum yield) =Step Plan Cum Out put / Setp Cum Input
50.0000 / 50.0000 = 1.0000. To display in percenatge 1.0000 X 100.00000 = 100.00000%

Step 20
Planned Yield (planned step yield)
Plan yield value defined as per step (Coming from recipe for that operation)
As per Recipe this is 95.0000 %, so planned step yield for batch step 20 is = 95.00000%
Plan Cum Yield (Planned Step Cum yield) =Step Plan Cum Out put / Setp Cum Input
Step Plan Cum Out put =SUM(Actual input to the current step * (Previous step plan cum yield / Previous
step Actual Cum yield )) + External Input ) * Current step plan yield
Step Cum Input =SUM ( Input to the current step from Previous step / Previous Step Cum Yield ) +
External Inputs coming to the step
Step Plan cum Output
SUM (45.0000 X 100.0000 / 90.0000) + 50.0000 X 95.00000% = 95.0000
Step cum Input
SUM (45.00000 / 90.0000 X 100.000) + 50.0000 = 100.00000
95.00000 / 100.0000 =0.950000. To display in percentage 0.9500000 X 100 = 95.00000%
Step 30: Material in and Step transfer details

Plan Cum Yield (Planned Step Cum yield) =Step Plan Cum Out put / Setp Cum Input
Step Plan Cum Out put =SUM(Actual input to the current step * (Previous step plan cum yield / Previous
step Actual Cum yield )) + External Input ) * Current step plan yield
Step Cum Input =SUM ( Input to the current step from Previous step / Previous Step Cum Yield ) +
External Inputs coming to the step
Step Plan cum Output
SUM (90.0000 X 95.00000 / 90.00000) + 50.0000 X 95.00000% = 137.75000
Step cum Input
SUM (90.00000 / 90.0000 X 100.000) + 50.0000 = 150.0000
137.75000 / 150.00000 = 0.91833333. To display in percentage 0.91833333X 100 = 91.83333%
Step 40: Material out and Planned step yield and Planned Step Cum yield calculations

Plan Cum Yield (Planned Step Cum yield) =Step Plan Cum Out put / Setp Cum Input
Step Plan Cum Out put =SUM(Actual input to the current step * (Previous step plan cum yield / Previous
step Actual Cum yield )) + External Input ) * Current step plan yield
Step Cum Input =SUM ( Input to the current step from Previous step / Previous Step Cum Yield ) +
External Inputs coming to the step
Step Plan cum Output
SUM (135.0000 X 91.83333 / 90.00000) + 0.00000 X 90.00000% = 123.97499 (123.97500)
Step cum Input
SUM (135.00000 / 90.0000 X 100.000) + 00.0000 = 150.0000
123.97500 / 150.00000 = 0.82650. To display in percentage 0.82650 X 100 = 82.65000%
