Differences between Hangul and English

These days, English is essential basic fundamentals for the Korean so


people have learned Education for a long time but Many Koreans still have suffered
from English. Therefore, many Korean linguists analysis that the reason why millions
of Korean feel difficulty in English. Before the finding out between English and
Hangul (Korean alphabet), it was interesting that English and Hangeul have
something in common. Basically English and Hangul is the phonetic alphabet, unlike
ideograms that one alphabet signify one meaning phonograms can combine
alphabets and make each different meaning. The word sky, for example, in Hangul is
that is combined consonants , , and vowels , but in Chinese is just
one word that . It makes people to learn thousands of words rather than that
assembling some alphabets help people to learn language easily. It is interesting that
two languages to look different at all has similarities. But one difference between
English and Hangul is origination, Hangul and English are differ from its origin. The
name English is originated in ancient English Englaland that means the land of
Angles. English doesnt exist the certain creator but Hangul have a certain creator. In
1443, The great King Sejong make subjects create words that people can easily
learn. Since 1446, Korea use the language called Hangul.
One anther difference between English and Hangul is grammar. Hangul is a
lot of different from English in grammar. Fundamentally English is the subject-verbobject word order pattern of language but Hangul word order is subject-object-verb.
Unless English is a verb centered language so sentence focuses on verb Hangul Is a
focused on postposition. In English, verb is the center and actually occupies largest
percentage among the words. It makes people to learn English hard because if you

dont know the verb, you cannot interpret whole sentences. Otherwise English, in
postposition is really important to interpret Korean sentences. Postposition makes It
is the reason why many foreigners feel difficult to learn Korean. Postposition is used
with Verb, object, adverb and adjective and located at the back of them. It shows
grammatical relations and combines words so that makes complicated sentences
clear. Therefore, because of difference in developed a part of class, Korean are hard
to study English.
Final difference between English and Hangul is pronunciation. Basically
English consists of 5 vowels and 21 consonants however Hangul consists of 10
vowels and 14 consonants. Hangul have more vowels than English because
consonants must be connected with vowel. Consonants can locate side by side in
English but cannot in Hangul because without vowels consonants cannot sound
alone. Firstly, there are F, R, V and Z sounds that Hangul doesnt have so people do
hard to pronounce that words. In Hangul, however, there are ,, and called
Ssangjaeum that English doesnt have. They have to be pronounced strongly so
many foreigners pronounce them hardly. Secondly, some alphabets have two sound.
Each Hangul pronouns only one sound but alphabets have few sound in conditions.
For example an alphabet A can be pronounced [;] or [] depends on the
condition. It is difficult to understand the concept to Koreans because there is no two
sound in one Korean pronunciation. Finally, there is no accent in Hangul. Accent is
very important to English. Accent makes people to be confused because Koran
speaks mono tone and there is little accent in words. Therefor it makes much more
difficult to understand English sentences. it is very useful and interesting that finding
out differences between Hangul and English. If people can understand differences
between two language they could learn different language more easily.
